A few gems, including Eric’s drawings for the chicken costumes from 1970s Xmas specials; ‘what do you think of it so far - rubbish!’ and ‘there’s a hell of a draught in here, I don’t know where it’s coming from but I know where it’s going’

No longer happening, but under my predecessor, two fully dressed up ventriloquists dummies used to come to staff Christmas parties. We also attribute any malfunction of shelving to the ghost of our founding director.

Also, hooray for technology being able to help me understand them in real time. Now, what I did not know is that there were similar, very detailed, plans drawn up for an invasion of Ireland. Here’s my family’s part of the world on the west coast.

I’d have got the George Cross for that in 1940, I’ll tell you that much. Sadly, it’s 2025.

Huge thanks to Simon, Nicola and Kevin for all their help with this. A journey we started way back in Lancaster, via Brighton and Glasgow. Happy.
