The wording of the question has changed, but congestion pricing is now at -2 statewide; +10 in NYC in this month's Siena poll. That's a 20 point swing from -22 statewide shortly before launch in December. December poll: scri.siena.edu/wp-content/u... May poll: scri.siena.edu/wp-content/u...

Nearly final CBO score of the GOP reconciliation plan is out. Their bill would cut program spending by $1.5 trillion but spend $312 billion more on defense, ICE, etc., for a total of $1.2 trillion in spending cuts. Plus $3.6 trillion in tax cuts. For a total of $2.4 trillion in higher deficits.

Huh. No mention of Tren de Aragua "invading" the United States. So strange.

Currently watching the @fdny.bsky.social debate how to deal with this chronic illegal parker 😤 I encouraged them to bust the windows. Clearly a $165 fine isn’t motivating enough for some people. 🍽️ NY LKA1113

Are streets public space or storage space for private property?

What a line from Warren Buffett this morning: “Be kind, and the world is better off. I'm not sure that the world will be better off if I'm richer." [applause] 🙏🏼

Amazing how before cycle lanes were invented there was no way for a business to fail.

NEW: We are suing five Virginia and Maryland drivers with $425,000 in unpaid traffic fines. One Maryland driver owes $187,200, the most owed for dangerous driving violations in DC. If you repeatedly endanger District residents while driving, you will face consequences — no matter where you live.

Let’s normalize putting the name of the corporation that owns the private prison in the headline whenever something like this happens

A lot of U.S. states have developing world rates of traffic fatalities, but this tool is obsessed with (declining and far less fatal) NYC subway crime

Did the Federal DOT just accidentally file a letter containing legal advice from the DOJ, instead of a letter addressed to the Judge, in the MTA v Duffy case?

It's another case of Mayor Adams backing off proven safety improvements in the name of business interests or more "public input." In reality, the Adams administration has lost its own transportation ground war to opponents of bike lanes and bus lanes who have no interest in safety.

"By the time I'm done," said mayoral candidate and NYC Comptroller @bradlander.bsky.social, "you're going to have a lot more bus and bike infrastructure, more of the neighborhood loading zones that use the curb, more of those shared containers, especially in denser areas."

scammers are using LLMs to take up all the slots in community college courses in San Diego as part of a financial aid scam. Hard to see a way this doesn't eventually kill remote learning for these colleges. Huge deadweight loss generated by LLMs.

PSA to drivers: crosswalk creeping is creepy. The light won’t change faster & you won’t get to your destination quicker by doing this. It’s dangerous for peds. Just stop at the stop bar. 1/2
