There continue to be parts of womanhood that I deeply wish my mother was still here for me to ask her about. It’s wild, at my big age, how I’ll still feel unmoored and unsure of myself and need my mom. I don’t know that it ever ends. This time of year in particular, but honestly, always.

I insisted we spend two hours every morning training for it. You all thought I was mad. Many of you requested to be transferred to another lab that studies cuttlefish but does not put 3D glasses on them.
