When your buddy calls and says “I have so many sandwiches can you help me get them to hungry people” you cancel your work for the day and pick up a huge box of fresh made sandwiches and drive around feeding all your homeless friends and stocking mutual aid stations! SANDWICHES ARE LOVE!

It seems like a requirement to be a federal appointment these days is to have a wikipedia page with a "controversies" section

I think I'd call myself an anarchist if I wasn't concerned about "doing anarchism wrong"

This is incredibly smart by @ryanhatesthis.bsky.social, a lesson Democrats have to learn fast. There will be no a-ha moment for the electorate. You can't wait around for people to realize how bad it is if they'll invariably wind up blaming the Reverse Vampires. You just have to fight, right now.

Thanks again to our wonderful volunteers last night for making/distributing 50ish grilled cheese sandwiches & a bunch of oranges to our unhoused neighbors! We rely on donations to feed people every night of the week Venmo- pdxfeedthestreets Cashapp- FTSPortland #MutualAid #PDX #MutualAidPortland

Sometimes I check in on the local social media chuds. In this case I discovered what might be the absolute worst metaphor ever.

I wonder if the libs who call for increased psychiatric incarceration see the framework of what they want in some of RFKs rhetoric or if they're just ignorant/in denial

i think it’s so cool how 20 years ago crank conspiracy theorists were relegated to corners on the internet on sites called shit like “TRUTHNEWSNOW dot com” and now there’s just a 50 / 50 shot half of those old users are in government positions these days

Turns out, unhappy individuals emailed all of our sponsors to complain about @goberthicks.bsky.social & me supporting Prof's Trans Lifeline Fundraiser. Fun fact, we've done so every year, and we'll do it again. If that doesn't rile you up, just WAIT until you hear our stance on women's rights...

You can see this in action in narratives about left intolerance themselves. They work hard to understand and validate right wing reactions to left attitudes, but don't offer the same understanding towards the left attitudes in question

Protest: *held on a weekday midday outside where politicians are working* GenPub: Oh my GOD get a JOB Protest: *held on a weekend evening* GenPub: SOME of us have CHILDREN to feed DINNER to GET A FAMILY Protest: *held on a weekend* GenPub: Look at these loser freaks GO PLAY PICKLEBALL

Maybe I'm off base here, but when people talk about weed cafes being "third spaces" I can't help but feel they've lost the plot a bit.

And there it is. Same holds for activists, writers, "free speech" orgs, arts institutions and everyone else who has been silent for 15 months.

People are literally being killed by LE and jail staff. The feds booked this man, why? Why is this young man dead? www.kgw.com/article/news...

I don't think it's going to happen but I think there's a logical progression during this administration that leads to public executions broadcast on cspan

The reason villains are typically more interesting than heroes in fiction is very simple. Heroes in most mainstream American art obey the law and uphold the status quo. If you want more interesting good guys, you need to start writing heroes who blow up pipelines and kill ICE agents.

I'm not gonna claim I understand the nitty gritty of this. But I do understand creating a set of guidelines for yourself and then say "actually, nah" when it comes time to implement them. And it generally signifies a disconnect between your messaging and actual function.

Resetting a laptop I got second hand and Cortana fucking jump scaring me was not something I remotely expected.

I gotta admit, it's hella funny when a person calling for "unity" blocks you over the boiling hot take of "I don't think Joe Biden was a good president and we should expect more"
