Hmm, hard to pinpoint any specific thing, but probs just practice, paying more attention to the colours and the saturations, as well as the values and appeal of them. Also staring a lot of artists who do colourful works and how they use their colours 👀

Aaa thank you so much!! 🥰💛💛💛 It definitely has flipped into me having my clothes be more detailed lol, and realizing that adding all the details to eyes is 'wasted' time when most of it won't be as visible in the full illustration 😅 Still always will love rendering hair when I do!

Thankfully simpler does not mean worse! While both are very good, I personally enjoy the roughness and sketch-like touch of the current day one a lot, it feels very alive to me 🥰 if that makes sense lol
