What was the actual content? I don’t remember. I clicked on a link from a headline and as soon as I’m presented with an experience like this, I’m closing the window.

Everything is a learning opportunity. Personally, I don’t want to fall into a culture of “mid” and am always finding ways to improve. Even if iteratively over time.

I also don’t think it means you should never ship code that works but might not be the highest quality. It’s a fine line where the trade offs need to be continually evaluated and discussed.

Quality of code might not be a reason for not shipping. But as it compounds over time it will either:
a) slow down the rate of shipping things
b) increase the rate of bugs introduced
c) both

I started running again and I feel the same way. Whenever I run by another runner there’s always this silent nod of encouragement towards each other saying “way to go - you’re doing great”

Do it! I personally hate treadmill work, but may jump on the one in my office gym if I don’t have any other options 😂

Badass by Kathy Sierra. One of my favorite books!

Shaking my head on the last hashtag. Need an edit button.
Also have a feeling that most of my runs are either going to be early morning before others or awake or (like tonight) after I’m done with bedtime before I settle myself down for the evening

So look out for the #SummerRunningSeries and feel free to join along if you’d like. Speed and distance don’t matter. It’s all about spiking those endorphins and doing what you enjoy!

So every time I go out for a run between now and Labor Day, I’ll post about it. Maybe it’s a pic I snap, how the run felt, what I discovered along the route, how I’m improving, etc
Much like #75DaysOfHobbies, the goal is to find more consistency and make sure I’m taking time to do what I enjoy.

Running used to be a much bigger part of my life. When I was in my early 20s and suffered depression, finding running was a big part of what helped me.
I still get out every now and then but I want to make it something consistent again, get in better shape, and get lost on the road.

Great issue! The “who cares” era is one that super resonates with me as I see it all the time as a developer. I feel like it’s my job to care and I try to instill that same attitude to the rest of my team.

You wouldn’t blame the junior engineer for a prod issue (but ugh so many still do).
If you adopt “Ai” into your workflows those processes need to be tightened up even more.

Agree that finding time can definitely be difficult. But when you want to prioritize building a stronger team it can usually be justified.
