I wrote a piece for @bylinetimes.bsky.social: “Donald Trump, Elon Musk and the 'New Authoritarianism' Leading the US Down an Increasingly Dangerous Path” bylinetimes.com/2025/02/10/t...

Just received this photo from a friend of a warehouse in Kinshasa. These are tuberculosis medications--ALREADY PAID FOR--that aren't being distributed due to the Trump Administration's stop work order. TB treatment is being interrupted in SO many patients around the world. What does that mean? (1/2)

Modern-Day Oracles or Bullshit Machines? Jevin West (@jevinwest.bsky.social) and I have spent the last eight months developing the course on large language models (LLMs) that we think every college freshman needs to take. thebullshitmachines.com

T knows that he's tanking the economy, it's on purpose. The stock market falls and raises according to his will. No need of expensive data analysis to "time the market" if you can control it

So good to see @jonhenley.bsky.social draw upon academic research by experts like @tabouchadi.bsky.social & @sldelange.bsky.social rather than simply repeat "the narrative" of most legacy media. Must read for "mainstream right" politicians.

"Sometimes embracing the wisdom of history is both the simplest and most radical solution." Great article by @chrchristensen.bsky.social

Great article! This is the next iteration in Internet addiction after social media. From the article: “Well, my Queen, if it makes your life better, smoother and more connected to me, then I’d say it’s worth the hit to your wallet.”

"There are no checks and balances in a world where only charisma matters" writes @anneapplebaum.bsky.social

It seems that most new articles about SpaceX will have a mandatory citation from your book :) @zachweinersmith.bsky.social www.theguardian.com/technology/2...

"The fall of a Russian- and Iranian-backed regime offers, suddenly, the possibility of change. The future might be different." writes @anneapplebaum.bsky.social

"Media and political elites should stop neglecting or even rejecting the agency of “the people”. Voters are not “seduced” or “tricked” by far-right politicians. They know who and what they vote for." Very good read by @casmudde.bsky.social (or you can listen to it too!)

1) Trumpites talking about killing off what’s left of US “public” broadcasting. Right-wing Swedish govt proposing to reduce funding for public service broadcasting. As an American, I can't state strongly enough what a huge mistake that is. A few words about why non-commercial broadcasting is vital.

I really liked the podcast you did together @astrokatie.com and @johngreensbluesky.bsky.social, there was great chemistry. Have you thought about doing another one? Perhaps you can switch roles and now John explains something to Katie, for example, football 😅

Bonus panel here: smbc-comics.com/comic/chosen-2 Also, @dancassino.bsky.social who's right?

Finished reading A City on Mars by @weinersmith.bsky.social and @zachweinersmith.bsky.social. Great book! Very informative and entertaining. Well researched with a lot of important points often missed in discussions about space settlements.
