The larger problem, I think, is that everything about the way higher education is organized militates against writing education. It's not hard to understand how a person, especially someone who lacks confidence in their writing and fears the task, may choose cheating as the "safe" option.

i need everyone in the white house press pool to ask karoline leavitt if the president thinks joe biden is a clone or a robot. he can’t be both! we need to know which one he thinks it is.

Kerala (the state in India where communist parties keep getting elected with far better health & education than anywhere else in the country), Denmark, Barcelona, and Uruguay aren’t too bad. Not perfect, but not too bad either. Democratic socialism is an actual political tradition with a good record

IMO libertarian socialism necessarily involves organizing and directing the power of social pressure. But it’s better to be humble about organizing cruelty, a weapon. Shove dweebs in lockers, ok sure but who is shoving, who is watching; even if denaturalized what actively negates vulgar masculinism?

Their diagnosis of the social - the lunch room, the family reunion, and even the collective’s meeting - as a space of banal violence that ignores or even crushes creative human potential is not wrong, even as it ignores the far greater social violence on axes other than nerd/extrovert.

PSOE, I believe. The new left Podemos/Sumar lost a couple points relative to predecessor parties though did better than expected

People have learned the (true) lesson that "mutual aid" is a solution in a way "nonprofits" aren't in the worst way possible. Replace nonprofit bureaucracy and philantropy culture with an attention/influencer charity economy. Great. That's definitely what the anarcho-syndicalists were fighting for

Instagram, Microsoft, Google, ChatGPT, Anthropic Claude, Square, Salesforce, Palantir, IBM, Netflix, Apple, X, Valve (even though it’s a coop) … and structurally Bluesky (though not ATProto) too. There’s no way out that’s pure. But incremental steps, alternatives, and underminings matter
