Dr. Seuss was rejected by 27 publishers. Universal and United Artists passed on producing Star Wars.
If you believe in your vision, that's all that matters. Hang in there!

Without a preferred entrance, a level can come in and attach to any exit whenever it wants, evicting an existing level. This can still be desirable, because it allows change. But preferred entrances allow creators to lock it down 🔒 once they find a good arrangement.

If the other level's author decides they want to attach to that exit, they become permanently attached, because the authors have mutually chosen to be best friends forever 🫂 [3/4]

With a preferred entrance, a level author can say "I prefer that my level's exit be connected to this specific level's entrance." But this doesn't attach it, just sets up a preference. [2/4]

Hello 👋

It's a custom web engine. The levels are AssemblyScript (WASM)

Well it's good! I had to write a script to do subpixel animation...takes all the guess work out of it for me. Could I try it on one of your pieces?

How do you do your subpixel animation?

Here's how you use them in your level. Super simple.

The UI can be customized too. Here I wrote "droplet" 💧instead of "heart" ♥️. Just pick a Phosphor Icon name and it works.

you can see the switch flip in their brains, and they become obsessed with convincing you to add/use AI/crypto for your thing. they just don't get it.

Awesome! I know it's not the same at all, but I got Metal Storm flashbacks

I try not to do these rants and take a show-don't-tell approach, but this one had to be told for posterity (and my sanity). Thanks for coming to my TEDx [3/3]

Get Lost is a 🎮 game + ⚙️ engine + 🧩 platform. The platform has to work or you can't receive📨 the buggy game. The engine has to work or you can't see 🫣 the buggy game. But I will 💯 share the buggy game once the other pieces work together correctly. [2/3]

Get Lost automatically turns your dialogue trees into
AssemblyScript, saving you from writing thousands of lines of code. [3/3]

You can now make ALL dialogue with a graphical editor, TwineJS, which ships with the Get Lost dev environment. TwineJS makes it super easy to visualize the tree interactions and dialogue choices [2/3]

Awesome. Do you have any large animated space backgrounds?
