1. theyre run by 19-21s
2. a lot of people joining have never worked in a team before
3. people bank on them as a way to make a living + it might be the only time they have their own art printed-so stakes are high

Adding that you have to be the sort of person who enjoys organising to some degree (esp for zines and the like) LOL ive worked in teams my whole career so im used to the headbangs of "wait what size was i supposed to export it?!"/ "what was the brush again?"/ "how do i do X?"
