Depends on the force. Many of the larger cities require an associates degree for entry level and higher degrees as they move up. Psych evaluations are done, but the first part is similar to the test they have job applicants for customer service jobs take and from that is how they base further eval.

Please do as they are still showing up to serve and protect and praying a asshole power hungry, angry cop doesn't get them killed. I know many who lament about this especially when tensions get high.

I know there are contesting results in certain districts of NY. I'm not sure of other states. We're a blue state in NY, so I dont know how much difference it will make except perhaps to prove fraud and perhaps a senate pick.

My husband and I said the same thing! What a sad parade. My town's Veteran's day celebration has more energy and much more respect for those who serve.

Not all law enforcement will assist ICE. Many departments have explicitly told their officers to NOT participate in ICE activities.

So does NY. If these thugs are from out of state, their private vehicles may not have front plates.

That's why I immediately thought of the airports. A security firm in the ROC? He knows a lot about evasion.

2/2 Remember this is in response to DJT saying it was out of the control of local authorities.

1/2The LAPD is a result of orders by the LAPD Commissioner and the Mayor of LA. These officers reported to their jobs and were sent to patrol this area. Don't blame them. Many had their days off canceled and were mandated to stay extra shifts. Yes, they look ridiculous, but its from higher up.

This is what happens when you deputize thugs and hire private police. It gives rise to an irrational power. Then, we allow these thugs to be armed.

How much do you want to bet that FOTUS turns the narrative back on his " assassination " attempt and keeps the focus there.

Big generalization to make. Does not represent many of the straight men I know. Perhaps because I hang with strong women.

Every night during the pandemic at 7pm, NYers gathered on rooftops, balconies, windows, and streets to cheer for the pandemic health care workers. A wonderfully loud symphony of noise.

Drives me crazy how so many cannot see reason thru their anger. It is why the current situation exists. DjT rallied MAGA by giving voice to their irrational fears. DJT was a lifelong Dem until he wanted to be King. He knew he could con the right and he did.

Going off the radar left is definitely the wrong way to go. I'm a registered Independent, but I lean left. Democrats need to rein it in to appeal to a broader base. A third of registered voters just sat at home! Then there were the Gaza, I'll vote 3rd party line voters. Inspire them. Less anger.

2/2 They just weren't the issues people felt most important. If the Democratic party wants to appeal to the Independents and wavering Republicans they need younger leadership that speaks to Costs, Health Care, Jobs, Immigration. Plus campaign out of the box methods.

1/2 SMH at those who are sounding like liberal MAGAs. Hate and divisiveness are how we got here. It's time for a new tactic. The Democratic party swung too far left and focused on the wrong issues. I'm not saying they weren't important issues.

Landmark rights for women. I remember them all.
1969 - right to sue for no-fault divorce
1974 - the right to establish credit
1988 - the right to obtain a business loan on her own
