The Republicans aren’t listening to anybody but Trump. They know how detrimental these cuts will be to their constituents but instead of developing a backbone, standing up to Trump, & doing what’s right—they’re too scared, too spineless, & too sold out to fight for the folks they represent.

The rest of the world is prepared to take advantage of our feckless, idiotic, and myopic government led by unqualified right-wing TV hosts and social media influencers as Trump ushers in a new era of American mediocrity.

Economists as they contemplate how many ways this is wrong.

KRISTEN WELKER: So you’re not profiting off of the cryptocurrency at all? PRES. DONALD TRUMP: I haven’t even looked.

“.. If they don’t change the tariffs, it’s going to be an extinction-level, asteroid-wiping-out-the-dinosaurs kind of event,” he told me. “Only these aren’t dinosaurs. These are dynamic, healthy businesses.” @wsj.com www.wsj.com/business/tar...

Is this bad? I'm no international shipping expert, but this sounds bad.

Things the president of the United States said on meet the press today: He doesn’t know if he has to follow the constitution He’s fine with a recession Americans can do with less Small businesses are just “a couple of little businesses”

Lots of people dunk on this, but replace dolls with medical equipment or any number of food items and it's less funny.

May the Fourth be with us.

NYT Page One: “.. a blitz of moneymaking ventures capitalizing on their father’s name and power, each seemingly trying to outdo the other.” @nytimes.com

A race played out across the globe, from Europe to the Middle East and the U.S., led by Eric Trump & Don Trump Jr. as they pushed new ways to profit off of the Trump name & Trump's status as POTUS. The NYT today investigates this extraordinary drive to cash in. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/05/u...

what a complete idiot.

What happened to all those constitutional conservatives? www.nbcnews.com/politics/tru...

Looking forward to Trump's executive orders tomorrow outlawing the letter N and declaring that the month of August is now called "Donald"

I don't think it's fully appreciated just how much Trumpism is a celebration of ignorance. Trump not only never learns but proactively avoids it. It's a braindead movement from the top down.

No, Trump is not playing five dimmensional chess. He knows less about the Constitution, his job, and the operation of govt than any president in history (including William Henry Harrison who was dead after the first month)

If you ever wondered what malignant narcissism + megalomania + congenital lying + substance abuse + greed + cognitive decline + 4 hair transplants + orange makeup + heel lifts in an ill-fitting suit looks like, now you know.

So I think the folks at Ladbrokes need to start running a line on whether Trump can make it to January 20, 2026 without being committed to a mental institution

Star Wars taught me more of a moral code than any Bible verse. The power of Hope, the importance of Friendship and Loyalty, embracing Diversity and Acceptance, the perils of Hubris and Arrogance—and the balance between Light and Dark… Stay on target, my friends… and May the 4th be with you. Always.

Don’t Look at Stock Markets. Look at the Ports. A drop in maritime traffic suggests that the worst is yet to come. www.theatlantic.com/economy/arch...

Even if Donald Trump's openness to defying the Constitution and denying due process doesn't surprise you, his ignorance of his oath of office should shock all of us.

Warnock: Georgia officials said they were sorry but their hands were tied, you can’t vote the first weekend of the runoff after the holiday so I decided to untie them, I sued them. And I won… They appealed asking for emergency relief. Emergency relief from what? People voting?

In Canada & Australia, the most left factions were sacrificed to give the center left the ability to defeat the extreme right. Had that happened here, we wouldn’t be in this nightmare. I guess the rest of the world learned from breathtaking folly of the “uncommitted” and Stein voters.

It’s YOUR patriotic duty as an American to fight back, resist, obstruct, attack, denigrate, mock, ignore, shun, criticize, reject, rebuke & castigate this group of lawless Constitution-hating MAGA fascists with everything you have, at every opportunity, without relenting for any reason. Period

It's striking how vapid and boring this all is. The meme president. His flunkies snickering about how Epic it would be to post this, certain that they're Trolling but not quite sure whom or why anymore

Courts delivered a major win for Pennsylvania voters on Friday by ruling that mail-in ballots cannot be rejected for some minor errors and rejecting a far-right lawsuit to purge over 277,000 voters from the rolls. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

No lies detected! #ResistTrump

Auchincloss on Fox News: "What I'm seeing is a president who is more interested in the valuation of his memecoin than he is about people's 401ks. What I'm seeing is a president who along with Howard Lutnick is self-dealing on crypto instead of worrying about the strength of the US dollar."

WIth everything else you kind of forget that the president of the united states is a crypto scammer

“If the Trump administration can get away with violating the Constitution because it knows the courts will be too slow to prevent it, then those constitutional rights simply no longer exist,” Adam Serwer writes:

This deserves some good coverage: tariffs giving “cover” for other price hikes that are unrelated to trade.

BREAKING: Federal judge finds that Trump exceeded his authority in his Alien Enemies Act proclamation addressing alleged members of Tren de Aragua, issuing a permanent injunction barring AEA proclamation-based removals from the Southern District of Texas.

Pretty sure Trump did not run on a promise of lower living standards

"President Trump's federal government has spent about $220 billion more in his first 100 days compared to the same time period last year." Good breakdown here of how federal spending is up so much even with all the DOGE cuts.

I have a pretty high bar for declaring we're in an actual constitutional crisis. I think this is as close as we've been. From the ABC interview last night: 6abc.com/post/full-tr...

I'm a broken record, but: there's no indication Trump understands what a trade deficit is or how tariffs work. The presumption is that he's just lying about both, but that only helps him slip nonsense into the discourse when the nonsense goes uncorrected. www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

Civics 101.

I wish American business leaders were as wise as China’s foreign ministry.
