This feels incredibly normal to me.
Also, tell us more about that cocktail!

Proud of you despite this being a horror story.

Sounds amazing, tbh.

True story, I was once crushed between two cars. I collapsed in the street in a pile of broken glass afterward. My sister ran up and asked if I was okay, and my immediate response was, "I'm fine. How are you?"

"Oh, you know, half of my bones fell out of my body and I've got a blue fluid I've never seen before coming out of both ears. But my pain level is pretty manageable today because the screaming stopped by 9 AM, so I'm alright. How about you?"

I've always had good luck with very spicy food, for the throat. My go-to is to tell my favorite Indian place to make it hurt. For lungs, I'll crank up the shower as hot as I can handle and just breathe the steam for a while.

I can't reassure you that everything will be fine, because I simply can't prove that. But I hope that the day goes as smoothly as possible and you give yourself grace. Moving is always incredibly stressful.

Spoiler: I have absolutely interviewed candidates in a skeleton tee before. And it even had a lightly censored fuck on it.
If you try hard and believe in yourself (and your boss isn't a miserable shit) you can do it too!

Doing something fun for yourself on your birthday is important. Hope it's a great one!

I really wonder how much of the issue boils down to being in a VM and native hardware detection being obscured.

I really thought about linking this to you but couldn't bear to be the way you found out.

Chuck's social media team, you realize they're literally abducting people off the street and shipping them to a foreign prison with no due process, right? Like, they deported a 2 year old with cancer that's an American citizen. Why are you posting this mediocre crap instead of talking to your boss?

I use them a lot as a Midwesterner as well. Damn and fuck slot in as a replacement for either so nicely, but mixed company makes them problematic.

Video wasn't great, but I'm interested to see if it has a meaningful impact in Steam survey results.

If you can track them down and they'd be interested, some older systems might work well. Marvel Super Heroes from the 80s was spectacular. West End Games Star Wars system is incredible and easy to learn. Paranoia's a great choice too, though kids that young might not get it.

D&D's the obvious classic option, but it's hard to do with 2-3 people in the party.
Gloomhaven is TTRPG-adjacent, but is a board game, but might be a fit to consider.
Many of the Powered by the Apocalypse games could be a fit (I don't have direct experience here, but have heard good things).
