"Never ascribe to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence."

I also just realized this. Really heightens the absurdity of this whole thread, doesn't it?

There’s a huge difference between claiming the media dropped it or the public didn’t get a report (which isn’t even true, the FBI investigated it!) and filling the gaps you perceive in the coverage with details that aren’t supported by evidence.

"Human nature" is subjective. No one knows how they'll react in a situation like that until it happens, and it might not look the way you personally think it should. Again, easier to assume USSS was shell-shocked because they didn't properly anticipate the threat.

I'm not sure what you're saying. If you're insinuating that the relative calm from Trump's team compared to Reagan is somehow incriminating, I still don't think that's a strong foundation to claim it was staged.

USSS did not properly secure the site, did not have a clear chain of command in place, and did not efficiently communicate amongst themselves or with local police. A bipartisan Senate committee released a report in September. www.hsgac.senate.gov/media/dems/p...

Can we please stop pushing the idea that this was staged when basic incompetence explains it better? I'm so tired.

Ben, Steve Kornacki alone is like 40% Diet Coke and wholesome as apple pie. You’re still in good company!

Saw the smoke plume while I was running errands earlier. Waiting on an update from the NJ Forest Fire Service. Looked big, and the wind today is definitely not helping...

Best congressman I’ve ever had, generous with his time, and still someone I look to for guidance

Sure would be a shame if you were to write down your uncensored feelings and mail them back 👀

The only kind of person this appeals to is someone both unfathomably cruel and terminally online.

My biggest motivation for staying put in my field is that we’ll need to coax decent people back into civil service whenever the dust finally settles on this era. I hate it too. Not what I intended for my career. But someone has to do it.

Some truly breathtaking shots in that game. The color saturation, the open vistas...Ghost is incredibly good at setting tone with their visuals.

Ah! I haven’t started Shadows yet. Actually, haven’t done Mirage either (trying to start this weekend) Origins was my first AC game and Bayek is still my favorite protagonist, though
