Words are important. News reporting should be about delivering facts, not trying to find anodyne words that disguise or mislead. Readers can read between the lines and they do. Having to read between the lines means they’ve lost trust in the paper.

How does Lindsay know any details about the target set? If he did know, then opsec was probably not very good.

NYT is creating a narrative, not providing accurate reporting. In the future, researchers will question the NYT for being at odds with other sources of information following events. Sad that the former "paper of record" has lost the trust of the readership.

Susan Collins is well past her "sell by" date. anyone expecting more than "concern" from the Senator is likely to be disappointed.

He can’t eradicate the stain on his reputation by voting to confirm RFK. Cassidy should lose his medical license.

@timkaine @markwarner. Senators who do not vote no on this nomination are complicit and deserve to be carefully scrutinized before they run again.

And yet he continues to cite to approve Trump administration nominees who come to the senate for confirmation.

Her weakness is appalling. If she can’t do the job, resign and let someone else provide the leadership.

It is really foolish to say unequivocally that the leak made no difference. He doesn't know that and has no evidence on which to base the statement. The plural of aneccote is NOT evidence.

I wonder if NYTs most frequently accessed section is games. That is the only section I look at since their headlines And thus their reporting can’t be entirely trusted. I go to other news sources for objective information.

Israeli intelligence probably embedded a microphone in it so they could spy on Fetterman.

This is an incredibly deceptive headline and especially misleading for readers that only scan for headlines.

He is past his sale by date. He disgraced his constituents and the rest of the country with his inexplicable vote. Time to go Chuck.

Voting no on the bill in no way compensates for a yes vote on cloture. That is the vote I’ll remember at election time.

They should all be ashamed of themselves. They have totally ceded their authority to the majority party who I believe will ignore whatever deal Schumer thinks he negotiated. He got nothing. Sad day.
