I know next to nothing about international trade but is "tariffs on EU" or wherever else, even how this works? As in, can you target tariffs that way, other than indirectly? I would have assumed that WTO rules would not allow it. But maybe I am wrong because none of the reporting makes this point..

I would also like to see the old format by the way but if you think a team has a great advantage in singles, that ends up accounting for 80% of the tie... but yes doubles can be more unpredictable and are usually very close matches so it would be preferable to have them included in the tie.

Sure, but the doubles isn't bad either, so even if they were playing the 5 matches as they used to this would not really change much. What you're saying is that Italy are stronger and favourite. Also, I thought you meant in general.

I admit that if I could choose how to play, between the 2 of them, I would probably go with Carlos.
