I often compare Kawakita’s work in the later Heisei movies to extravagant stage shows, concert light shows for Ifukube’s scores, but Takayuki Hattori’s music hits a whole other aural vibe? It’s such a dreamy indulgence of colors and tone, it’s almost serene in its way. Fun and pretty as hell.
