Using an LLM you can easily outperform someone with an advanced degree who is unwilling to sell bullshit.

P.s.: This is not some anti-DEI rant, I am sure there are a lot of capable women in the army.

There is a mistake towards the end of your piece: you claim that women are more fit since 70% of failed applicants were men; however, men's share of total applicants is slightly larger than 70%. Thus women are slightly overrepresented among the not accepted.

One could say he is not outside of his area of expertise. For the past 25 years he has been a salesman; he has merely pivoted from selling tech related hopes to selling conspiracy theories.

Don't worry, I hear in later episodes they elect another guy and give him extraconstitutional powers, I'm pretty sure he'll fix everything.

Could you please copy/screenshot the gist and share that rather than sharing 3 links to their pieces? Generating traffic will not discourage horserace coverage.

There is an AE von Vogt sci-fi short story where a sudden nuclear attack destroys a lot of US cities. The Soviet Union immediately signals that they were not behind the attack. The ending reveals that the attack was carried out by southern racists as revenge. Perhaps this is what he is doing?

Jefferson is up there. He owned slaves, forced one of them to have sex with him. He created partisan politics in the US. Why do you admire him? Surely not because of his expansionism? Except for Lincoln, the others are also pretty problematic.

You might enjoy the sci-fi short story "Last Enemy" by H Beam Piper, which is about a world where they figure out that reincarnation is real and it affects the inheritance laws. A bit too much action in the second half, but the setup is interesting. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Last_En...

I don't think it's just 'pop' evo psych. A few decades ago I went to my friend's intro to evo psych class at uni and they were being taught smart sounding pseudoscience from the 1950s.

F the WP, but while we are doing media criticism, 'traffic fell to less than a quarter of what it was in January 2021' is close to useless data. I imagine it is very much the same for other news sites, since January 6 was a rare event. The 10% drop in revenue is the real information.

That would be nice, but it is not a realistic expectation? The US maintained their alliance with the South Korean military dictatorships too, and today offers military support to leaders like Egypt's el-Sisi, who came to power in 2014 after 'winning an election' with 97% of the votes.

The phrasing could still be somewhat more accurate; the chancellor is likely to be far-right for the first time. The FPÖ itself has been part of the government and has given multiple ministers several times. www.bundeskanzleramt.gv.at/bundeskanzle...

Of the well-known fascist governments, Mussolini's and Hitler's was only toppled by external military force; I don't see that happening for the US. Franco's and Salazar's lasted for around 40 years each, when the rulers became incapacitated. Too long. 'Not forever' is not much of a solace.
