This is the video you didn’t know you needed to see today 😂 🔊🔊🔊 📽️ hubertthebird

FEDERAL RESEARCH LAB SCIENTIST IN 1965: After five years and seventy million dollars we have invented a new type of plastic that prevents communists from being able to climb ladders too fast FEDERAL RESEARCH LAB SCIENTIST IN 2025: My cure for cancer was shelved because it might benefit Hispanics

Being a Black person and being a woman makes a person DEI, apparently. Not a DEI hire, but DEI itself. Per the NYT.

Trump trying to muscle Zelensky with the same outrageously corrupt protection-racketeer’s demand as in the 2019 call that brought about his first impeachment: I would like you to do us a favor www.nytimes.com/2025/02/22/w...

George Zimmerman and Kyle Rittenhouse are walking free! They're doing fucking speaking tours!

Something that wasn't brought to my attention until after publication is that GlomarResponder also made a lot of posts that appear to praise and defend Adolf Hitler.

Older folks will remember the Cold War term "Kremlinology"—attempts to piece together from various clues the truth about the power struggles inside the Kremlin. Well, the fact that Kash Patel is the first Trumpy person to stand up to Musk in public is FASCINATING, Kremlinologically speaking.

It is a twisted combination of funny and frustrating that every Nazi dog whistle they did over the past decade plus, yes, including that OK symbol thing, got downplayed into oblivion by many of the people who feel like they are just all of the sudden heiling out of nowhere.

There are a few places in this country that serve as testing grounds for conservative tactics, places where you can see the future before it arrives elsewhere. Coeur D'Alene, Idaho is one of those places -- I've written about it before This video should scare the absolute shit out of everyone

“… unless, of course, the people of Boston know they don’t have to open the door to an immigration warrant, in which case Hell and I will stand around with our dicks in our hand like we did in Chicago and LA.”

If I were a government employee who received Musk’s stupid 5 bullet points email, I would’ve responded with this:

I have undergraduates writing research project ideas, and 3-5 bullet points wouldn’t be enough for them to explain anything. These guys are SO stupid, in addition to being absurd and cruel.

elon musk might be one of the most paranoid weirdos out there

Americans pretty overwhelmingly disapprove of Elon Musk’s involvement in government (per this poll from two days ago) and those numbers will continue to decline as more people figure out what’s going on. archive.md/427Ww

If you're represented by a Republican and you care about the post office, how about flyering outside your local post office. Tell folks about the administration's plan to dismantle USPS and tell them to contact their GOP reps. Include local telephone numbers on the fliers. bsky.app/profile/sylv...

The Trump regime's segregationist agenda is clear. I argue that having a Black man as president of white America enraged a portion of this country so much, that they decided to destroy any pipeline to Black advancement in academia, government, & workplaces. karenattiah.substack.com/p/trumps-seg...

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

I know there is fierce competition, but I think I found the worst person in Texas.

let me say that this is the classic “just asking questions” approach to delegitimizing the achievements of black people. and critically, you don’t even have to be a black person who talks about race. simply being black to these people means you are “obsessed with race.”

a new agency made of teenage neonazis and drug dealers is in charge of the entire government. the richest man in the world, who gave a nazi salute at the president's inauguration, says he is in charge. officially, he isn't. the government won't tell the courts who is in charge

How about Congress or the courts require Musk to explain HIS work? www.politico.com/news/2025/02...

so then it's not a cost-cutting team, is it

I wouldn’t think “moved to root out diversity initiatives” is a useful phrase for journalism at all, but using it as a euphemism for a purge of high ranking black officers is downright Orwellian.

Scientists have reconstructed the insane weather of Tylos, a world so hot, and so close to its sun that the clouds are made of vaporised metal, and where it rains liquid sapphires and rubies. https://buff.ly/41a3GnB #ShareGoodNewsToo

Absolutely *love* trying to read a web page on my phone while simultaneously dodging 25 Temu pop-up ads.

Germans have been subjected to covert Russian propaganda as well as overt American propaganda - jointly in support of the far-right www.nytimes.com/2025/02/13/w...

Worst. Episode. EVER.

Shamelessly using my son to tell you today is the LAST DAY to order signed copies of DAUGHTER OF DARING! www.skylightbooks.com/book/9781335...

Replacing the military brass and attorneys with three-star generals you pluck from retirement is exactly what a dictator looking to use an army to do some violence does.

Thanks to @sketchesbyboze.bsky.social for reminding me of this Ursula K. le Guin quote.

btw, i will tell you this - i have been talking to people all day, and the media is missing, whether intentionally or not, how absolutely, volcanically angry the people who have been fired are, not because they lost their jobs, but because their jobs matter, *to us*

Pleading with people to understand exactly this:

Hegseth is going to fire every woman or Black person in military leadership.

This guy would’ve found a way to rationalize the layoffs as being necessary and good if he hadn’t been personally let go. This kind of person is incapable of having any empathy or understanding until it affects them.

This is so many words to say Trump fired the chairman of the joint chiefs because he’s black www.nytimes.com/2025/02/21/u...

My cartoon for today’s @guardian books.

Todays hero

I don't really feel bad for Ashley St. Clair because she knew what she was walking into but imagine having a baby alone then sending pics of your just born baby to his dad ON SIGNAL

““We did not elect him,” a man shouted. As the town hall reached its scheduled end, more constituents shouted questions about Musk’s access to taxpayer data and yelled “don’t lie to us””

I said it yesterday, but if you can't find it in your heart to dump your Tesla for antifascist reasons, do it because the value is about to plummet and the ability to get it serviced will evaporate when the company collapses.

This well-referenced page includes personal stories from those terminated, with links to share your story. Congressman Ro Khanna and the House Science Committee are surveying the impact of these cuts.

I am a very proud monthly donor to the Palmetto State Abortion Fund. They are doing absolutely vital work in difficult circumstances, and every dollar you send goes to helping people access crucial abortion care. Funds like these and heroes like these are the front line for our freedom.

amazing, somehow I did not even know this
