THIS is why Democratic leaders must be replaced sooner rather than later. 9:42 AM: Amy Klobuchar posts a photo with Lindsey Graham bragging about her "bipartisan meeting" and how they "stand with Ukraine" 1:40 PM: Lindsey Graham is on Fox News "trashing Zelenskyy and praising Trump and Vance"

one more time for the weekend — was thrilled to have the chance to write about Ronald Johnson, connecting him back to some of his early influences & source texts as well as pointing towards some contemporary poets continuing in his idiosyncratic Queer Romantic tradition

I love this essay because Dennis reminds us that we can't say higher ed research develops the cancer treatment for your grandmother without also saying that we need to make it so that your grandmother can afford that treatment, and so on and so on.

this essay by Peter Coviello made me cry. what a beautiful tribute to a friend.

New at PB, Peter Coviello writes about an uncategorizable and life-defining relationship with a friend and how loving and caring for her on her deathbed shaped his understanding of queer kinship.

Very excited to share that this beautiful little volume of poems by the late, visionary Essex Hemphill, which I co-edited with the brilliant Robert Reid-Pharr & for which he wrote the introduction & I the afterword, will be out next week (March 5) from New Directions! www.ndbooks.com/book/love-is...

New City Magazine did a fun interview with @cothrel.bsky.social to mark the one year pubversary of IMMEDIACY; in print at local newstands and now online: lit.newcity.com/2025/02/27/i...

Important Barbara Johnson content for those near Providence next week! #BJC 🌸💖

PUB DAY!!!!!

USC folks: mark your calendars for a talk I will be giving from my almost-done (I promise) book on March 20 at 4:30 in Gambrell 429.

Woke up in the middle of the night incensed about this. It’s bad for research & scholars. It’s also outright bigoted and so horrifically shameful for NEH to capitulate and effectively endorse this unscholarly, unfounded, hateful crap. This invalidates anything they DO fund now.

I gave an additional 104.42 this month. Can you join me. Every single dollar counts. No donation is too small. Every repost and share helps.

Loving this one right now.

I just remembered an MLA job interview I had in which I showed up to hotel room expecting to be greeted by a committee of 6 and was told by the man who answered the door that the rest of the committee had gone to TGI Fridays but that we would go ahead and do the interview anyway.

today, for In Media Res, I wrote a short piece on my favorite artifact of internet culture, GONCHAROV, for a theme week on "Auteurs in the Age of Social Media" organized by @caitmurphy.bsky.social. So grateful to Cáit for putting this together! mediacommons.org/imr/content/...

Kadue on Kramnick “It’s not clear to me that criticism is primarily a machine for generating ‘truth’—rather than, say, useful fictions, or experiments, or wagers, or interesting interpretations of texts, which may be plausible but still contestable...about the dare as much as the truth” (1/3)

Happy official pub day to these two brilliant beauties. (We do first of the month not Tuesdays. We’re unique that way.) Someday I’ll stop going on about them but today is not that day. @sunypress.bsky.social (30% off Disrupting Poli Sci during BHM sunypress.edu/Books/D/Disr...)
