Trump was never popular. His popularity rating never went above 50%. His rhetoric only appeals to low information voters, or his cult. He was never going to appeal to a broader group of people and that is by design. Trump is a symptom of a larger problem with our system of government.

This strange loyalty Dems have for the leadership responsible for so much of their misery. They failed us and should be cast into the garbage bin of history not celebrated with boomer memes. Their bad politics is what enabled Republicans in the first place.
