Diabetes needs to be approached from many angles. Learning to eat a whole foods balanced diet is one of them. This is not to the exclusion of other interventions including insulin. It's not either/or as they would lead you to believe.

I'm a registered nurse who worked with cancer patients for 30 years. Men pulling away when the wife is ill is nothing new. Since I worked in acute care I didn't see long term, but in the short run the men didn't offer much support. It was daughters and sisters stepping in to provide the care.
