I'm trying to understand Lutnick's point. He's claiming that, in this zero tariff scenario that Kennedy hypothesizes, China would essentially use Vietnam as a middleman to avoid tariffs on $90 billion in goods flowing through their country. Is this factually the case now?

I've never understood why witnesses before house and senate committees - who persist in talking over representatives - cannot be treated as hostile witnesses like in a court of law.

I'm not suggesting the tattoos symbolically sta d for MS-13, but
1) Has anyone explained what they do represent?
2) Why would Rep. Swalwell use "doctored" rather than "superimposed" or "added to the image" instead? Wouldn't that have been a better tactic to draw out a bogus reply?

Congresspeople need to modify their tactics when questioning these nominees. They should start with simple, yes or no questions on constitutional grounds. Then, they need to sit back and let the respondents spew out idiotic, undefensible points so that it's on the record and can be used against them

Their marketing department is doing horrible work. The lowest tier used to be "Wanna Get Away"; now it's just "Basic."

None of the replies here provide any evidence that anyone in the President's family - besides himself - applied for and were rejected by Harvard. It's a compelling story, but that's the kind of attack that the President uses against his opponents. Let's get this right.

Kennedy looks like he's passing gas. I think this group is more like "After Abe smacks him a bit, I'm next."

^^^^THIS!!!^^^^
It's clearly an unconstitutional clause, but it will take several court cases to get it overturned. And that means it could be years before unlawful behavior of the executive branch is rectified.

Standard & Poors may soon follow suit. Remember when they did that in 2011? What a s$%# show that was afterwards.

For years, t-shirts and other paraphernalia have been sold with an amazingly similar catchphrase. Note how all of these are labeled.

What "Rebellion?" What "Invasion?"
Last time I think that might have been applicable was January 6, 2021.

Again, the Constitution says in Article 1, Section 9, Clause 1:
"The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it."

But, as concerning as the possible Qatari gift is, it's a distraction from what Stephen Miller suggested last weekend: a suspension of Habeas Corpus.

Seems pretty clear to me, even as a non-lawyer, that no elected official can receive any gift without approval of Congress. Period. No circumstantial justification is noted.
