How did he "never realized his actions had consequences" though? He made a direct statement about it and retired after it, how is that not facing the consequences?

Well, you kind of just said "No." to my whole thread not really bringing up any points that I made. You seem focused on a single individual when I'm more so looking at the bigger picture of the donations, and how framing someone as a bad person for having good intentions feels disingenuous to me.
