Year is 2012. Youtube uses the Cosmic Panda UI. Back then I grinded so much to get into the YPP to be able to use HTML in my channel banner and fun stuff like that. I get Partner in early 2013. May 2013. Youtube starts rolling One Channel. Now everyone has a bland layout and a banner, too. ☹️

this is a cool project! in addition to automating offsite repo+blob backups, it has a web UI for registering PLC recovery keys (which you keep in a p/w manager, not remote service), and doing the adversarial PLC recovery process (eg, if your "old" PDS is unavailable) solid step for own-your-data

Bluesky can take more effort than heavily algorithm-driven sites, but the payoff’s much better. My tips: - Explore what makes Bluesky unique: feeds, starter packs, etc. - Follow feeds and active users, and reply in threads! If you’re well-known, convos come to you. Until then, go to the convos!
