🤣🤣🤣

I forget where I read it, but someone online suggested that maybe we need to dump a bunch of Teslas in the Boston Harbor and declare independence against fascism and oligarchy.

Signaling on the low might as well be not signaling at all! “I’m against the gas chambers” he whispers to the neighbor being carted off by the SS.

If you're trying to figure out what to do right now, my advice is to just pick a thing that you think might be useful in some way, however small, and do it. Doing a thing leads you to doing another, bigger thing, and prepares you for that next thing.

accidentally became important at work

I cannot emphasize enough that the New York City subway is not scary. It’s one of my favorite parts of living here. I grew up in the suburbs having to drive on highways everywhere and that’s way scarier

Normalize calling Republicans Nazis.

There are moments in these deportation fights when I can just FEEL how pissed off they are that I’m Puerto Rican 😂 they want to threaten me with it so bad 😂

Having internet addicts running the federal government is the modern equivalent of having the president hopped up on amphetamines. Though there’s probably some of that as well

has anyone ever just thought to release a ton of spiders in the white house

None of this is necessary.

We've gathered in solidarity wherever federal workers, federal programs and our Constitution are under attack. The majority will defend representative democracy against the cyberbarons.

The accelerationist belief that if things get bad enough, then things will start to get better is quite something to see in the wild. It’s wrong though. Historically, misery creates more misery and is visited on the most marginalized in ever intensifying cycles of horror.

Math is hard

did not check a single social media site today and missed nothing of import. probably a fluke, better log on even harder tomorrow

The most shocking thing about this is that anyone took him at his word.

Seeing a pattern here…

if my pilots don't tell me their pronouns before take off, then I am getting off the plane

A big problem with American politics is that a third generation hvac company owner is seen as more working class than a teacher’s aide

It's true that The Left should not have forced the Democrats to nominate Malcolm X for president in 2016 and 2020 and 2024. We must own up to this.

Too many people on here seem to believe there are exactly two kinds of Americans: ardent politically-obsessed Bluesky users, and frothing MAGA cultists. There are a LOT of people in this country who *just don’t pay a lot of attention one way or another*. And we absolutely can reach them.

all these guys want the credit for being stoic quiet tough guys like gary cooper in high noon but the problem is they whine and cry all the time and never shut the fuck up

Make your calls. Go to your town halls. Ask your state and local officials what they are doing under state and local law. Rest. Hydrate. Make soup for the hungry. Don’t let people tell you that you’re doing it wrong. Not a sprint. Not a marathon. A relay. Find your team. Thank you.

Everyone is wrong about why Dem "messaging" sucks. It's not that it's not "simple" enough, or that it's not focused enough on this or that. It's that they are not engaging in the politics of the day. They're floating above it. They don't respond to things, and when they do respond, it's boilerplate.

This is all a good reminder that, “no help, no votes until the criminal conduct stops” is neither a big ask nor a politically perilous one.

Not exaggerating when I say that the path back is going to be built on people in positions of influence regaining their sense of self-respect. www.nytimes.com/live/2025/02...

Things are dreadful but I am getting small joys from the fact that people I always knew were full of shit are in fact losers.

I want to be extremely clear about this: anyone wearing a swastika shirt is way, waaaaay over the get-your-ass-beat line

me daring the cars to run me over when stepping onto a crosswalk

Microsoft's own research confirms something that was already pretty obvious: relying on a text generating machine to come up with answers erodes critical thinking, and is a method favoured by those who never liked doing critical thinking in the first place advait.org/files/lee_20...

So everybody saying we don’t need to worry about any of this stuff because it’s not legal. When do those legal folks step in and turn everything back to normal? Is that happening Monday? Tuesday?

Oops 😬

Hold on 😶 If the people pay taxes 😕 and those taxes pay for government work 🤔 and the government stops all of that work 😯 but the people are still paying taxes 😳 where is all the revenue going? 🤯

“A new analysis by independent automotive blog FuelArc suggests that fire fatalities are 17 times more likely in a Cybertruck than in the infamous Ford Pinto — the posterchild deadly cars if ever there was one.”

One agent with a couple of pizzas and a copy of How to Pick Up Girls could throw their whole plan into chaos.

People need to remember that a slight provocation in the right place can goad the President into weeks of self destructive behavior

It turns out entrusting our democracy to a bunch of white Christian nationalists who only see government as a means to enrich themselves and punish their enemies is a really bad idea, actually.
