I will be going this year! Got a room in the main hotel, hosting two panels/events, and hoping to help the con charity a bit with some arcade goodies

Definitely feels like there was some fishing/reaching in terms of what to critique me on for the past year and I understand management wanting to fill the 1.5 hour meeting with things to say but it's hard for me to take things seriously when there's no depth to the feedback

In fairness, there are critiques that are more productive (i.e., me not acknowledging every slack in various channels), but one of the main reasons parents choose me to teach their student(s) is because of the custom work I put into them. Parents are paying a premium after all

I have related so much to Ben over the years and so glad to see Sandra in such a supportive role here!

As a side note, if any mutuals need a place to crash for the convention send me a DM especially since several friends I went with in years past won't make it to this FE.

I went to the Lost Bar with @executivechaos.bsky.social back in October. Had a Pina Colada and brought home a sake cup as a souvenir. Was a great spot to be in Shibuya!

That seems to be a more-expensive 'mistakes than tea would be but I understand your point

If you need any tea recommendations, let me know. There are so many different varieties out there just for green tea alone.

Yeah it's good to set aside budget when playing. Also be mindful that it takes a while for the prizes to get shipped to you

I had to warm up my skill level but my parents loved to travel so I got to ski every year basically from when I was 8 to 13. By that point I was able to speed down the mountain and even try tricks although I don't recommend that

I've been approached by several counties for being a teacher because of my stellar record as a tutor, but the amount of pay versus the extra work is so not worth it. Doesn't matter if I have a masters degree and experience, teachers just don't get paid enough for the 40+ hour work week they do...

Better than me. Haven't skied in ~15 years so I know my shins and ankles would be hurting if I went back onto the slopes.
Kind of miss doing the black diamond slopes except for the ice patches

They both certainly have their appeal and it does show the difference between active/passive capture

Also played yugioh from 2004-2013. Some highlights:
- qualified for nationals twice
- finished with a regional record of ~60% win rate (constant 5-3 or better)
- met various voice actors and have signed playmat
- preferred playing my "Spellcaster Toolbox" deck instead of traditional meta decks
