doremi herself is such a great protagonist. i love her cargo shorts. i love her bizarre steak obsession. she feels like a much more well-observed and affectionate take on the kind of girl who would imagine herself as the protagonist of a magical girl show.

Of course it would be a little easier to not see “The Story Of Deltarune” as a puzzle to be solved with the correct assemblage of pieces if there weren’t so many little scraps lying around both inside the game and out advertising themselves exactly as scary little puzzle pieces

And what would it mean for everything to be made more explicit, anyway? It’s very possible it would disrupt the tone. Fox’s approach is compositional. Capitalized Themes and images/sequences repeat just to “feel” a little different each time, NOT to be “solved” like puzzle pieces

I find it particularly interesting how many people think of Kris as being “emo” in some way. Painted nails/mcr kind of kid. Totally makes sense. Not how I conceive of the character but no less interesting
