I cannot, during these horrific times, recommend enough the importance of making pockets of time to just do things that are not related to anything but the joy of being alive and playing. You need it. You do. It will keep you whole. Which we need. We need you whole.

if you can just go lay down as if to nap, do it!! when i was sick with it in 2023, i slept through basically a whole week (ty for sick time srsly) and genuinely think that’s the main reason i did not have later complications

We've got a zine that we put together recently on DIY web archiving. It doesn't have to be technically difficult, and there are tools that may work better for some websites than the Internet Archive (though certainly make sure things get archived there, too!)

There is no calamity so huge that there is not beauty and humor and joy to be had in the moments between actively working on solving or evading it. Learning to take those moments, embrace the hell out of them, is what will make it all worth it, at whatever point you reach the end.

ime campaigns can be difficult to get commitment unless the players are already invested in being at the table together. for ex, they have already had fun with board games, one shots as a group and are looking to spend more time together and are open to increased structure

Simple mechanics one shots, like @gshowitt.bsky.social one pagers, to get newbies familiar with playing a character and combining roleplay with mechanics. After a few of those and if players are enjoying, shift to a slightly more complex but not too crunchy short campaign with a limited scope
