There's a conflict between the boilerplate systems built to make Stuff you find in modern engines and the need to hand-tune things to make any game actually feel good. That friction is where a huge amount of dev time is spent

i realized in English we use the Italian term "chiaroscuro", but one of my hispanic friends pointed out it's called "claro oscuro" in Spanish, and now the name of a certain 2025 video game makes so much more snense. oh how i have been blind to the game's theme this whole time.

hi im the weirdo who would also recommend using gettext for l10n!! It might seem normal to use an Excel sheet to track translations, which can work, but Portable Object files are specifically built for localization: string IDs, context, plural forms, translator+programmer comments, occurrences

i thiiink i beat clair obscur, but the game pulled a fast one on me in the epilogue and crashed the game after several hours of play (third crash in my total ~20-30 hour playtime). rn im just confused on a lot of the story stuff. got tired of normal difficulty actually being hard, so i story moded.

The new Digimon game is looking great! And you can ride with Beelzebumon on his bike lol Most Digimon games are quite good, I enjoyed Cyber Sleuth and Next Order. But seems like this time they got a far bigger budget and are trying some weirder stuff... I'll be there day 1!

started clair obscur tonight. weird things im not sure why they exist: death screen being long (i died to the big green guy a lot)(glad death means nothing tho), and white jar man has subtitles but he isnt saying anything intelligible. how anyone can decipher grumbling as a complex sentence is crazy

So my XPPen Star G430S was messed up on my CachyOS, and I thought "Oh, maybe OTD might work this time! Ill go try it." OTD didn't work, had the same issue as last time on Fedora. Using a different distro did not fix my tablet being locked to the bottom of the screen lolol.
