Harm is all the ways people and systems go against human beings' best interests.
Accountability means being able to fully own having done something and making meaningful change in yourself and systems around you to prevent it from happening again, or committing other harm.

Abolition is the end of the current system of mass punishment and the building of a new world that commits to responding to harm without replicating harm. Abolition replaces punishment with accountability.

To give you some sense of how over the top this operation was, ICE gave Fox News DRONE FOOTAGE of the operation, showing a cavalcade of armored vehicles through the streets of Pasadena to serve a search warrant on a guy whose offense was stapling fliers on power poles with information about LEOs.

i’ll add this here: NYT always argued there is or will be a wave of detransitioners who regret medical transition & it’s never been true. because of outrageous gatekeeping around trans care, regret rate for *adult surgeries* (youth surgery is incredibly rare) is 1-2%. knee surgery regret is ~14%.🧵
