I hope there's more to it as well, it's just starting to feel that way given the level of division.
Ignoring our historical sins only deepened those cracks. The fissures seem worrying. I've always been an optimist, but now I'm wary.

Definitely preparing. Both my husband and I gave our bodies and youth to this country already for stupid wars. We also want our kids to get a chance to grow up so we're preparing an exit plan and a fight plan.

People keep thinking we're having an election in 4 years and I'm over here like... we're not gonna have free and fair midterms given the firings of election people.

Only a day after he talks about George Washington and how much of a hero he was. Like dude... He would not approve of you.

Wtf. Next they'll submit a bill to change his title to "dear leader" or some nonsense.
This is so un-American. It's disgusting.

Definitely don't get used to it. it makes me so angry knowing that it wouldn't even cost much to end homelessness. I mean it's a lot of money but in the federal budget it would be an insignificant amount. much much less than letting people die on the street. I'm tired of attending those memorials 😔

Through the next few weeks, I'm going to highlight some history of housing injustice, policies that work, those in jeopardy, and my opinions on where we should go. I'll go as long as I can while protecting my peace💗. Burnout makes this much more difficult.
Let me know if you have any ideas!

This is a bit of a rant. My apologies. ADHD is a pain sometimes 😒. I know I don't have a ton of followers, but I'm going to start writing more here on housing policy and how this administration is destroying our support, while creating massive unemployment in some very high rent areas.

This administration is going to destroy housing support at the same time they cut fed jobs. They think taking housing from elderly veterans is better than taxing billionaires. It's disgusting.
I can't keep staying silent on this or ignoring it as I have been lately.

I have put so much time& effort into housing veterans and so many others who needed housing. It'snever enough. The funding gets cut and the cycle of homelessness begins again.
There is SO MUCH change that needs to happen at HUD and HHS. unfortunately We have actual monsters running the show.

I miss the work. I miss my ppl in both the PNW and MI.We did the best work we could do in situations where we needed to stretch our budgets to "just house'em."
There are people out there that tried desperately to figure out ways to end the crisis of homelessness.
I studied it extensively.

Absolutely.I've worked in a few of those cities in homelessness services-from shelters up to policy aide to the Mayor.
I've seen the services under both R and D.Neither really are actually trying to fix the problem, Imo.That being said, the GOP is destroying the work we did to reduce homelessness.

They're horrid. It's thinly disguised as Christian mandates or whatever, but the Catholic social Teaching (while very flawed in many ways) is explicit about caring for others and society working to benefit all the people. Jesus wants them to love all.
These monsters just aren't even Christian. 🤬

Right? And the programs that help with housing people are being cut. So there won't be shelters or anything to help. There will be some, just fewer. Federal funding is such a big part of the social safety nets (of which there still aren't enough).
This is going to get bad.

Maybe a direct democracy IS the right way to go. If they're not doing the jobs we pay them to do..?🤷♀️
