He's getting old in a hurry. Has averaged just 120 games/year with the Phillies during his prime.

Yeah, if you think the risk of injury is the reason some teams don't spend, I have a bridge to sell you

Ah getting old enough where the kids you watched coming up are approaching the twilight of their careers. That's fun AND existential

Why you gotta hurt me like this, Luis Garcia

Unsafe things like what? The proposal here is cameras everywhere.

Rich people always have this privilege. More cameras would slow down all parties and improve safety for all users, even if it doesn't stop willful scofflaws. The net social benefit would be positive

100%. And frees up human being police resources if the robots are doing substantially more of the traffic policing. Those humans can then focus on, you know, keeping the community safe (in theory)

And Susana is close to a lock to get a taste one day, either as a starter or a reliever. Shockingly good trade results for the Nats.

Guy is just so talented but always underperforms. I'm dreaming of a scenario where he does better under the bright lights.

What is the corresponding move? Crews or Young?

Just an absolute force of nature

I really like bullpen management where they push guys for 2 innings when it is clear they are getting outs. Getting 2 from Lopez when he's cruising is wonderful.

Stop it. This is supposed to be a fun website. Not a place for news I don't love.

But Henry and Rutledge are starting to look ok. That's fun

I mean, Lopez and Sims aren't as bad as they have been to start this season. But just such low ambition signings. Would have been nice to get those guys AND like 2 or 3 other useful guys.

Adding serviceable arms in the off-season wouldn't have cost them much and would have given them pieces to flip at the deadline if the team stunk

This shocks nobody

This is what he signed up for. A LOT of money to play for... the Mets

Nats slugging pct this high makes no sense

Through the seasons first series, the starting pitching has exceeded expectations, and the bullpen has looked like flaming hot garbage. Crews has looked overmatched.

You kind of knew it had to be that way

Alt headline: Trump is acting like a mentally incapacitated child. Has no idea how to run county

Very interesting...? Comes off as the guy not caring enough to get himself in physical or mental shape to compete right from the get go.

I've heard that Portland is a great place for a baseball team

I wish him luck. The Phillies have doubled down on a rapidly aging and expensive roster.
