By using a Mushroom at an unfortunate angle in 200cc mode on the GBA Mario Circuit track in Mario Kart 8/Deluxe, it is possible to land in one of the tires decorating the course. The tire is inescapable, forcing the player to lose the race.

Everyone who is interested in a great IDE optical drive emulator should give @zuluide.bsky.social a follow as they just joined Bluesky. Their device is great!

New AMOS video drops this evening (UK time). Quite pleased with this one as it's one I've been putting off for a while... 😅

Last night, 2am, I had to drive home after a hellacious travel day. Seeing this snail riding with me brought life back into me. 🐌 Thank you kind spirit!!! Needed you.

Since somebody asked, I'd like to remind everybody that the complete source for my game (code and assets) is on github, so if you are wondering how a retro game is made. 😅 github.com/Dhebug/Encou... Same for the itch/steam launcher: github.com/Dhebug/GameL... (It's up-to-date.)

I've been a journalist for 25+ years and I'm not sure I've witnessed as much wilful (and v likely coordinated) disinformation from certain corners of the UK media than over past few days. Sun, Mail and Telegraph have been truly awful - and seemingly shameless www.theguardian.com/business/202...

On the anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, we thought we'd answer a question that's often asked, "If they raised the Mary Rose, why not raise the Titanic?" Allow our scaled diagram to explain...

Brand licensing has gone too far

Accessibility is important. As a colorblind person, parts of gaming have been cut off from me.. but maybe that will start to change.

Hello new followers! I’m Adrian, curator of crusty curiosities at Binary Dinosaurs. You may know me from such bangers as ‘that smells like a RIFA, where did they manage to hide that?!’ and ‘great, beneath everything needing a complete cabinet stripdown 😬’ Yes, CPT, I’m looking at you.

I recently saw an advert in a shop window that said.. Television for sale, £1, volume stuck on full. I thought to myself, I can’t turn that down.

1. LLM-generated code tries to run code from online software packages. Which is normal but 2. The packages don’t exist. Which would normally cause an error but 3. Nefarious people have made malware under the package names that LLMs make up most often. So 4. Now the LLM code points to malware.

One of the great tragedies of history is that Maarten van Nieuwenhove had a face born to wear an oversized Metallica tshirt that smelled of weed but was forced to live in the 15th century

Are Muslims really banning dogs in parks? 🤔 Let’s look at this perfect example of how rage baiting works, and how disinformation spreads, sticks, and fuels division, even years after being debunked… 🧵1/22 (1/1)

I've been so looking forward to this!! Atomic Elite!!!! Elite on my Acorn Atom!! Right on commander! 🫡

The Commodore PET, along with the Apple II and the Radio Shack TRS-80, formed the "1977 Trinity" that made home computers popular. The PET was very quirky, combining a tiny keyboard, a cassette drive for storage, and a monitor in a trapezoidal case. I got one, but it didn't work. Let's fix it... 1/N

How would you call in English and French this type of piece of furniture. It's kind of a "multimedia/hifi/tv" furniture with drawers and doors and a panel with hinges at the bottom that can transform into a small desk. Basically something the player can investigate.

On this day in 2006, Neil banged out the tunes

I'm so used to bar bathrooms with cutesy signs that I had to stop here and ask myself if I was a Mario or a Wario

You’ve got a #Sega #MasterSystem2. Do you save it or swap it? If saving, then why? If swapping, then for what? #RetroSaveOrSwap #RetroComputing #ComputerHistory #RetroGaming #VideoGames

A litle bit of silliness for your friday afternoon. Me, totally losing it onstage, a week ago in Dublin. Lovely fella by the way, he thought this hilarious, albeit in a characteristically hangdog way, just to re-assure you.
