A fairly decent human that is hopeful BlueSky continues to grow and attract other fairly decent humans. Oh yeah I love my family, friends, volleyball, golf, technology, Ball State, and pickles.

Congrats to @bsky.app and all the users and team that make it unique ! 32m users is real !

I’m ready to watch hockey more often. youtube.com/shorts/Ioodx...

My best guess is they are meeting to discuss a Ukraine surrender. www.nytimes.com/athletic/614...

1 hour into my new personal computer setup and I only have work programs installed and nothing fun. I’m looking forward to the weekend to get some classic #PUBG duos running. Also the power supply on this G16 is a behemoth! My only gripe thus far is no number pad on the keyboard.

I’ve moved from Twitter to BlueSky! One issue? Losing all my past tweets. So, I built a Python script to upload your Twitter archive, repost tweets (with media), & keep original dates. 📅 ⚠️ It will spam your feed for a day—run it before getting followers! github.com/Gordon55M/tw... #BlueSky #Python

I am migrating my old twitter posts/archive to BlueSky today. Sorry if this spams everyone!

Did a pretty cool thing tonight. My wife and I are coaching our twins 5th/6th grade park district basketball team. All players must play equally, but we’ve don’t know who is going to be at each game before the start. I created an app to make equal lineups without players sitting back-to-back.

I've decided to move over to @bluesky permanently at the end of the week and delete my twitter account. https://t.co/9ZiEveY5WY is where I will be at. I hope organizations in the future cross post to BlueSky as well as twitter. Thanks for stopping by! https://t.co/moTNJOou6K

This will help me get one step closer to not carrying a wallet. https://t.co/3zf7mU8N4p

We saw Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and the effects were amazing. Not amazing, chairs made for <6’ tall people. https://t.co/1JLLgu7Rgz

Got my PC Sinden Light Gun recoil working today. I really wish I took electronics in high school.

3d printed this grinch hand and had my daughter paint it. Love this in our “grinch” themed bathroom.

I always enjoyed Bill Melton’s honest take on the Sox postgame show.

It’s great to see Women’s Volleyball (and other Women’s sports) getting their chance to be on TV more. It’s a shame it took this long and some great athletes missed their window. Young girls seeing female athletes and not just NFL/NBA games is so important. on.ncaa.com/WVB24Bracket

Bold Thanksgiving moment - nephew Danger asked his aunts and uncles right as dinner finished to all move their cars out of the driveway so he could leave to go to his girlfriend’s. The collective groans better haunt him till Xmas.

It took nearly 20 seconds for the Bears to get set after Caleb Williams was sacked. How did they not give themselves a chance to kick a game-tying field goal with a timeout remaining? Story From Detroit www.nytimes.com/athletic/595...

A great article to get started with Bluesky. This URL helped me the most: blueskydirectory.com/starter-packs/ to find starter packs other users have created. For example, searching "Golf" helped me find a bunch of popular golf accounts.

Imagine you have a membership to a private golf course. You can afford it, and it’s where you’ve always golfed. Then, you hear the public golf course must pay for your private membership, even though it affects their course negatively. Now you know how the majority of school vouchers work.

@netsolcares That is good to know, thank you. Chat support said you did not have any monitoring pages to use and I couldn't locate any on your website. Not to gripe too much, but the "Global DNS issue" tonight isn't reported on this at all, so this actually wouldn't have helped at all. https://t.co/

@netsolcares It'd be awesome if you had a service monitoring page for users to see outages and such. Twitter is never updated and it is a pain to wait for chat support to confirm a global outage.

Since Network Solutions doesn't have an outage monitoring tool and I like Blue Sky and think it could be a great resource, I'll share that Network Solutions had "(A DNS) Issue being faced globally by our customers." DNS was intermittent for about 2 hours at 8:30 CST. #networksolutions #dns #outage

My lowest golf round ever was last weekend. I wasn't even supposed to play, but my twins basketball was cancelled and the stars aligned for me. Not sure if BlueSky has memories like FB, but I'll enjoy seeing this in future years.

I remember reading about @bluesky like a year ago and forgot about it. This morning I saw it was number 1 in the App Store and it looks pretty dang solid. It was odd to scroll through a social media feed without seeing hate. The interface, speed, and setup look very mature.🤞 https://t.co/yglLMcW6YH

Hello world!

I finally broke 80! Went under par for the for 9 holes for the first time ever as well. We played Countryside Traditional, a course I’ve only broke 90 once before. Feeling pretty good today! https://t.co/QSdYEgsDH3

We finally were able to get the girls to the @artinstitutechi today. Thankfully we were able to see the Great Wave again after we last saw it 5 years ago. Bummed they didn’t have the 3 copies out this time though. The girls loved the museum and were very engaged visitors. https://t.co/HbYTwE0dpU

Another Luau in the books. We’ll call top 10 in A a success. The wind was honestly our biggest opponent, it’s so hard to adjust when you aren’t used to seeing the ball move like it was. Ken mentioned it’s been 20 years since our Open title as well. Time goes by way too fast! https://t.co/sjTaE1apK0

I power washed my house today. 42 years old is the point in which I never climb a 26’ ladder again. https://t.co/UQwK6rxSXh

If you are in the market for a fairly decent gaming laptop sub $1,000 this is a great deal. $850 for a 16" i7 16GB RAM RTX 4060. Dell black Friday in summer deal. https://t.co/x9G9RIJ9jz

I loved the @cosi communications room as an exhibit and liked this message on the rack even more. https://t.co/APrwFLvImg

Had an awesome day at @KingsIslandPR today. The park and rides were age appropriate for my 10 year old (minus The Beast). Fast passes were exceptional, we never waited for a ride. https://t.co/Spnhl4sued

@SquarespaceHelp DM sent. Issue still not resolved and email support has yet to respond.

@SquarespaceHelp Is there a domain issue going on? None of my domains can save dns changes. Google domains never had this issue in my experience. Not a good start. Customer support chat says too many requests to handle right now as well.

Another field trip in the books. This time coincidently on the 13th anniversary of my mom’s passing it was at the Grove in Glenview. We got to stop by her tree to say hi and also see her plaque in the interpretive center during the field trip. It was a great way to spend the day! https://t.co/ZcND2o

Two separate field trips with the twins this week to @berniesbookbank . The girls and I loved the service project field trip, we will definitely go back as a family. The students let me know that I was tall and I was asked to help retrieve a students wrist band stuck in a tree. https://t.co/YzAqd2NT

Today daughter #3 asked me if I could stop mowing the lawn and teach her how to chip onto the putting green. It finally happened, she wants to try golf! Lawn can wait ‘till later. https://t.co/61OfKCvuFo

I brought the birthday girl (12) to Mom’s classroom for Rube Goldberg projects. I duplicated the experiment my dad and I made 33 years ago. The only bummer was when I asked Mrs. McConnell if I got an A+, she said I got a 3 as I met expectations, but didn’t go above and beyond. https://t.co/W1YK0d9Zj

The Twins decided they wanted their Harry Potter journey to keep going. They chose Cursed Child over Fantastic Beasts as their next story. #HarryPotter https://t.co/q2Awhbkf8A

Had a great time at Feed My Starving children with the family. https://t.co/qi0rRwn0eF

3 years later, we have finished the twins @harrypotter journey! They were able to avoid spoilers and loved the ending. Tomorrow they get to finally watch the last movie as well. They decided they want to read the Cursed Child next before reading the Fantastic Beasts series. https://t.co/d5BlS7sjvq

RT @DataVizSociety: What? Yet another article debating the worthiness of pie charts? Yes, we decided to stoke this fire since Nick Desbarat…

The water at @shakeshack is exceptional. Hands down best water at a fast food/casual restaurant.

iOS17 default calendar pain: shared Microsoft 365 Outlook/Exchange calendars can't be edited by users that aren't the owner. Shared user has full permission to the calendar & can add events, but after creation they can't edit them. Work around = install @Outlook iOS app to edit.

Cable modem died at 8:30 tonight. The downside of running your own hardware is you can’t just go to a Comcast storefront and swap it out. The good news is Best Buy has an adequate modem that should get me through the next 2-3 years.

"Changing defaults today is easiest on Windows and toughest on mobile," A bold take from Satya Nadella since changing default apps on @Windows 11 was a disaster in early versions. If I remember every file type extension one-by-one had to manually change. https://t.co/MjtBydYPQR

If you are building a computer or just want to upgrade to @Windows 11, this is an exceptional deal as posted on @cnet . https://t.co/yXJhqdM3ZC
