In just over a month, we've: ✅Funded shovel-ready projects that will create 1,800 affordable units in 10 counties. ✅Directed state agencies to review all housing regulations. ✅Proposed historic investments in housing in my budget priorities. Making housing happen.

Thurston County Sheriff Sanders supports our $100 million grant legislation to help local law enforcement agencies hire officers.

We’re facing a youth behavioral health crisis. Attorney General Nick Brown and Rep. Lisa Callan introduced legislation with bipartisan support to strengthen data protection and privacy for young people on social media. I’m urging the Legislature to pass this bill and take a stand for children.

As Attorney General, I took on the Obama, Trump, and Biden administrations to protect Hanford workers who work with dangerous radioactive waste. The Trump administration's new layoffs are putting Hanford workers at risk once again. They can't afford this needless chaos.

Today, we announced a $1.5 million grant for construction of a facility in Walla Walla to create sustainable aviation fuels. We’re bringing jobs to southeast Washington, and clean fuel to our state’s airports — making things happen.

Rep. Reed and Sen. Hansen are working to create more opportunities for in state scholars, and I’m proud to support their effort. HB 1557 guarantees WA students who do the work necessary to get a 3.0 GPA will have a spot in one of our incredible state colleges and universities.

Alberto Lovo Rojas has a legal work permit and a family in Spokane. He’s been detained. This is a cruel attempt from the Trump administration to deport a hardworking, law-abiding Washingtonian who's contributing to his community and our economy.

Japanese Americans in Washington were driven from their homes, separated from their families, and isolated in poor conditions in internment camps. That damage remains. Never again. On this Day of Remembrance, I commit to standing up for all residents of our state.

By cutting the Bonneville Power Administration, President Trump is increasing the risk of blackouts in our region. This is dangerous.

When it comes to health care, Washington state will be guided by doctors and other health care providers, not politicians in D.C. That’s why we’ll continue to defend your reproductive freedom.

We will work with the Trump administration where we can and stand up to him when we must. We're not going to change our values. We're going to keep moving forward.

Our mission must be to speed up government, improve customer service, and center the people in every decision we make. We're changing the culture of state government — and we won’t stop here.

As a new administration, we are taking a close look at the ways we’re serving the People. That includes our use of communications tools. I discussed the use of Teams Chats with my cabinet in one of our first meetings.

Last Friday, my policy team testified in support of Senator Keith Wagoner’s bill to limit the Governor’s emergency powers. To maintain a strong democracy with coequal branches, the Legislature must be a check on those powers.

Our state leaders are committed to defending your rights while making things happen for Washingtonians. We know who we’re fighting for.

I’m proud to be supporting bills from both Washington Democrats and Republicans in the Legislature on challenges from improving public safety to limiting the Governor’s emergency powers. We do our best work when we listen to each other without consideration for party.

Washington has the best-in-the-nation financial assistance program for college and apprenticeships, but we rank in the bottom 5 in FAFSA completion rate. Don’t leave money on the table. Get your FAFSA in on time: studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-...

I spoke to the Association of Washington Business about fostering a healthy business climate for businesses of all sizes. That includes two executive orders I signed on my first day — streamlining housing regulations, and cutting state agency permit and license processing times.

Elon Musk’s role in the Trump administration is unconstitutional. If the President wants Musk or any other powerful billionaire to have a significant role in running our government, he can and should appoint them as the Constitution requires.

Today, I delivered a simple message with state leaders: President Trump's chaos will not stop us from working on behalf of the people. We will continue to serve the everyday needs of Washingtonians — and we will protect Washingtonians' rights and freedoms.

We're expediting sex designation change requests on birth certificates. People born in WA who want to change the sex designation on their birth certificate can do so by filing a request with us. . doh.wa.gov/DesignationC...

Very proud to announce the Department of Health will now process all requests to change gender designation on birth certificates within three business days. Previously, there was as much as a 10 month wait.

Great to talk with British Columbia Premier David Eby last week about renewing the strong Washington and B.C. partnership. We have deep ties on trade, housing, transportation, the environment, and more. We will work together to take on the challenges facing the Pacific Northwest.

I promised to fight for all of Washington. As Governor, I’m keeping that promise — from announcing my support for free school meals in Spokane, to listening to island communities affected by our ferry crisis in Clinton, to advocating for higher education access in Ellensburg.

Making Things Happen for Workers: In partnership with @lniwa.bsky.social, we are repaying $163K to O’Reilly Auto Parts employees for lost sick pay. Read more: governor.wa.gov/news/2025/making-things-happen-workers-gov-ferguson-department-labor-industries-collecting-163k-repay-oreilly

Important win for Washington's research institutions — and lifesaving medical research — just hours after our Attorney General Nick Brown filed this lawsuit. We will continue to fight to protect Washingtonians from illegal federal actions.

Washington state is number 48 in the country for filling out the FAFSA. I'm on a mission to make us number one. That's how our students can unlock the assistance they need to achieve their dreams.

Today I invited Tim Reynon, the head of the Governor’s Office of Indian Affairs, to join the executive cabinet meeting — and every executive cabinet meeting in the future. It’s about time that the Office of Indian Affairs has a seat on the Governor’s executive cabinet.

Washington is a leader in cutting-edge scientific research. If the Trump Administration’s unlawful action is allowed to go forward, it would be disastrous for the important work happening at our research institutions.

Spent the day in Ellensburg visiting with prospective Wildcats, their parents, and Central Washington University President Jim Wohlpart. One of my priorities as Governor is to improve Washington’s FAFSA completion rates to get more financial aid dollars to Washington families.

Washington ranks last in the country in law enforcement officers per capita. We're going to change that. We must establish a $100 million grant program to help local law enforcement agencies hire more well-trained officers.

President Trump's attempt to withhold federal funds from states that offer health care to transgender Washingtonians is unlawful and cruel. Washington is a place that supports every resident's civil rights. www.atg.wa.gov/news/news-re...

Enjoyed chatting with Paris Jackson with Cascade PBS about moving our state forward and protecting the rights and environment of all Washingtonians. Watch the interview: www.cascadepbs.org/politics/202...

The National Guard from other states should not be able to enter Washington without our permission — to advance any president’s agenda. Many states, including Maine, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Idaho, Texas, Rhode Island, Kansas and South Carolina have already adopted this policy.

The first time I met with an elected official, I was in student government at the University of Washington. Honored to speak to UW students about making higher education more accessible — and more affordable.

I want local law enforcement agencies to have the resources to hire officers. Senator John Lovick, former sheriff, and WSCJTC's Monica Alexander know how important this funding is.
