Precisely my thoughts. Which isn’t to ignore the threat….

Miss this show.

23 February 1916 | A Polish Jewish woman, Ajdel Prync, was born in Włocławek. She emigrated to Belgium. She was deported to #Auschwitz on 12 August 1942 in a transport of 999 Jews from Malines / Mechelen. She did not survive.

Thank you for this Dr Janega. I first came to understand a bit about all of this when I found a judicially-murdered woman in my family tree. Rebecca Elson-Mudge-Greensmith. She fell under suspicion for having many of the characteristics you draw attention to: inmatesofwillard.com/2012/07/19/m...

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre says he would incentivize First Nations to support natural-resource projects through industry taxes and revisiting how much sway Indigenous Peoples and environmental considerations have over approving projects. www.aptnnews.ca/national-new...

Which is probably why it took me 20 years to read the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire!

This is great! I visited the website. It’s terrific. For those of us who don’t know Latin, here’s what the centurion wrote: “To the goddess Nemesis, (from) Sextius Marcianus, centurion, in consequence of a vision.” This really made me chuckle. His legion (XXth) had a SHRINE to nemesis apparently!

wake up honey new hog just dropped

It seems the Greeks not only used Roman numerals but also the stupid American date order.

I think I remember then Prime Minister Jean Cretien, announcing an almost identical program in the final days of his government. And…..

Regarding the following episode: astonishing that the word “racism“ wasn’t used until the 38th minute when Theo raised it. Dom & Tom could use a refresher. Perhaps Robert’s book “Every Living Thing” which traces origins of the idea of race? The excuse-making for English colonialism was shocking. 😳

I have this book on order. However, I was initially disappointed not to be able to find it on Audible or Libro.fm. (And yes, I know I want to get off Audible. I’m just using up some credits!). But listening to it on SoundCloud was great. Just started it.

Have to put this on my book list at my local bookstore. Looks great. Reviews are solid.

The windshield wiper!!!!! 😂😂😂

To American journalists from a concerned Canadian friend…are you folks okay?? Do you need a help? Listen. Let me try. It isn’t farcical…. IT IS NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN. Why are you writing about this? It’s embarrassing. The entire world is watching you. 😳 @nytimes.com

Interesting reflection!

“Can you recommend a book for us to read“, Anne Carson, “Homer, I always say, Homer“. I love her! And not only is she brilliant, she’s Canadian — yay!! 🇨🇦 She also confesses that she hasn’t read any new books published this year because she only reads books published before 500 BC 😂

I only recently become interested in medieval manuscripts thanks to Christopher de Hamel’s exciting book “meetings with remarkable manuscripts” this book is my current obsession - I almost can’t get enough of it. This is a fantastic thread and so much fun! Thank you @lisafdavis.bsky.social

Where does reconciliation stand? As five candidates compete to replace Trudeau, Indigenous issues are barely on the agenda. APTN’s Karyn Pugliese joins Cierra Bettens to break it down on the latest InFocus: pod.fo/e/2a9520

6 February 1907 | A Jewish woman Kornelia Neumann was born in Turnišče in Slovenia. During the war she lived in Szombathely, Hungary. In July 1944 she was deported to #Auschwitz. She did not survive.

The War on Heresy!!! Legend.

Absolutely. 💯 I know exactly where I was when I sadly closed it up and put it down.

We live in a a world where this revolutionary anthem from 1978 speaks directly to all of us. Just LISTEN to the lyrics. Power in the Darkness. Up the rev! ✊ @tomrobinson “Hope is a solemn duty which we owe alike to ourselves and the world.” PB Shelley. Thank you Tom!

It’s sad that whenever I see something unbelievably beautiful like this my first thought is…… AI??

Excellent!

Saying the quiet part out loud? Not so smart.

This is the content I want more of! Classical Armenian opportunities!
