A cold but brighter morning at Wheldrake Ings. Saw 3 different Marsh Harriers, 2 cream crowns, one much darker than t'other plus a pale well marked adult female, all from the Pool hide. 7 Whoopers were settled and feeding on the S side of Refuge. @ldvnnr.bsky.social @yorkbirding.bsky.social

Local patch today struck gold in the doom and gloom with @jnh1957.bsky.social #dalbyforest #northyorksbirds #hawfinch

We left a pair of Swarovski NL 10x42 on top of the car at East Chevington, Northumberland yesterday and then stupidly walked away, 5 minutes later we realised then returned but they were gone, I know it's a long shot but nobody on here picked them up and are trying to return them?

#Dalbyforest beautiful in the frozen snow. Walk around the patch. The early nesters are calling all over the Forest with Crossbills, Siskin, Coal Tit, Great Spot Woodpecker, Goldcrest, LTT, Nuthatch, Great Tit and other common species #northyorksbirds

@jnh1957.bsky.social An Abysmal attempt at trying to find any Birds on the North York Moors today with thick fog and black ice everywhere. Best of a tiny bunch was Willow Tit #northyorksbirds

North Yorkshire today complete extremes in the weather. The lowlands shrouded by fog yet bright sunshine on the tops. A decent walk along the NYM was birdless and obviously no Raptors on the Moors.

@nybirdnews.bsky.social Local patch this morning 4 Whoopers, 3 Pinks, 5 Little Egrets, Fieldfare and Redwing, Common Buzzard and a Female Merlin #ukbirds #northyorkshire
