London, UK based, retired Cunard Line Ship’s Officer onboard QE2. Politics is broken in this country and it's going to need radical reform to even begin to fix. Call me ‘woke’ and I’ll thank you for the compliment.

I bought a sofa from them once. Oh no, my mistake, that was Parker Knoll.

Absolutely. It’s always more interesting to have something left to the imagination, especially when one has an over active imagination to start with. 😏

Our Maggie was known for having no problem getting her puppies out for the camera. Whatever you do don’t do a search for her nude scene from the film “Killing Me Softly”, I won’t be held responsible if you have a heart condition.

I’m sure he would if Shania was there tonight and the chance if a last minute ticket. In this instance it’s Robbie Williams and they are hoping he’ll “let him entertain them”.

You trying to tell me that Miss Andrews hasn’t tried to drag you along to a Shania Twain concert yet?

Considering my career path I’ve always had an affinity for the sea, but a morbid fear of drowning - some say it’s a painful way to go, others say it’s peaceful. Oddly enough, I was born with the amniotic sac over my head and the midwife told my mother that it was good luck and I’d never drown 🤷♂️

Fuck me, neither can I at the moment. I was at the ballet last week at Covent Garden and the lift was out. Nearly killed myself getting to my seat, bastard cancer and the chemo.

Well there’s that. More likely is his diet will finally catch up with him, the GOP grow some balls and support impeachment (doubtful) or Vance plus either the Cabinet or Congress approved Disability Review Body instigates a removal using the 25th section 4 - Presidential Incapacity.

Don’t know that one, but then I’m not a footy fan. I did get serenaded once by a bunch of Man Utd fans on a train out of Euston after they had won the FA Cup against Liverpool in ‘96.
“There’s only one Graham Taylor” to the song Guantanamera…… that was fun, plus they got me totally bladdered.

That will be 12 years, give or take. Look at the mess he’s created in just 6 months. It’s going to get progressively worse the closer we get to the mid-terms in ‘26, then the next GE in ‘28 (if there will even be one).

There are a few idiomatic sayings that fit Musk to a tee:
“You reap what you sow.”
“You made the bed, now lie on it.”
“Karma has a funny way of coming back round and biting you in the arse.”

You have a choice between fly fishing or enrolling at the Cordon Bleu cookery school in London. The latter might be expensive, but it could be useful to have a bit of culinary training under your belt to impress the neighbours, the other half, Aunt Edna, etc

The Hungarian equivalent is köcsög.
After living underneath a Hungarian couple for a few years I’m convinced the Hungarians are all sex mad, he was 85 and she was 68. She was always asking me if I wanted “massagee”, it transpired that he paid for her to fly over from Budapest and offer services.

So should RFM & CON enter into a coalition they would have (projected) 330 seats and a 4 seat maj enabling Farage to be invited by the King to form an administration. Starmer needs to rethink his way forward very, very carefully and make some needed policy changes. Mind you, a GE is 4 years away.

I thought he was Farage’s TBH. Pugsley is a character from the Addam’s Family, so this could be Farage Family Values.

Probably best to keep him away from Darren Grimes at Conference then. He’s always got his fellow council members to take him under their wing, no doubt he’ll have to call them ‘Daddy’ and allow a spanking now and then. Seriously though this guy is going to be busy: cabinet post & two committees and

This is the result when these guys are taught from an early age that they are “God’s chosen people”, but don’t understand the deeper meaning behind that. The saddest thing is that child will be part of the Ethiopian Jewish community (what was called Falasha when they migrated from Ethiopia to Israel

This idea that the name ‘Union Jack’ only refers to when the flag is flown from the jackstaff of a RN ship was debunked ages ago. Either name: Union Flag or Jack is acceptable in common usage. This was even debated in parliament in 1908 in response to the Admiralty stating either name is acceptable.

I expect the parents’ anger is fuelled at what they see as teaching Critical Race Theory and the Civil Rights Movement. I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of those parents are upset because the signs weren’t to stay. It cannot be too long before segregation reappears in the Southern States.

There was an story covered by some of the MSM that described an “incident” over “whites only” and “coloured only” signs on the wall over a drinking fountain at a junior school 20 miles outside Atlanta GA. It was apparently an unapproved part of a history lesson, but parents are upset.

Well a couple of years back or rather 12 years we were told “Orange is the new black”.
These AI MAGA beauties look like someone attempted to clone Kristi Noem, Nancy Mace and Karoline Leavitt. The AI just misunderstood and “maced” the women.

Shouldn’t they be dressed in red cloaks and white bonnets, they are outside after all?
I know it’s AI, but whoever put this together must have used the cheapest and mist basic program. The women’s faces are positively scary, like something portrayed in the film “Deliverance”.

This I did and stayed at Rüdesheim for a few days as I explored the villages along the banks of the Rhine including the famous Lorelei Rock and visited the vineyards. I then travelled down to Franconia (a part of Bavaria) to stay for a few days at Rothenberg ob der Tauber, which blew me away.

The highlight of the rail journey down was the fact that the train snaked down the prettiest part of the Rhine valley, which even at night was stunning. I decided that next time I was visiting my Anglo-Swiss relatives I go during the day and stop off along the route.

In the Winter I used to take the OBB Wein sleeper from Köln, change at Linz and get a train via Salzburg to Radstadt to see Family, who ran a Ski lodge in the Salzburger Nordalpen; just so I could be humiliated by my 8 & 10 year old Niece & Nephew wizzing past me on the slope at some unholy speed.

Saying no DMs and my first thought was the black, green or cherry red ones? The 8 hole boot is really quite comfortable and the leopard print loafers are so cute. The 20 hole boot is somewhat of a pain to put on/take off. Miley Cyrus, Madonna and Rhianna all love their 8 hole as does the Dalai Lama.

Although no President has their Library in DC, as they all prefer to have it in their home State, there’s nothing to stop such a move except that Presidential Libraries are not Federally funded so monies have to be privately raised. With Trump’s ego he’ll jump at the chance of a DC Memorial.
comment in response to

Trump’s Pres Lib was put on hold due to his 2nd term, so no building work has commenced yet. Florida, close to Mar a Largo at Palm Beach would seem likely. I’m waiting for some sycophantic GOP politician to suggest a memorial, tomb and library at DC to rival the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials.

As long as he doesn’t end up in Arlington. Only 2 Pres (JFK and Taft) are buried there. It would be amusing if he ends up in a plot next to the Kennedy clan and Jackie O. All the rest are buried on their Family estate, at a State Memorial Cemetery or their Presidential Library in their home State.

Tell that to those in Gaza that are trying not to be killed in missile attacks as they look for food and water, or those that were living in the Nazi death camps in ‘44-45 and the relatives of the millions who died in Pol Pot’s Cambodian killing fields by the Khmer Rouge. Hell exists, but on Earth.

There would be a need for 20 GOP Senators out of 53 to vote with the Dems & Ind. Not impossible if enough GOP Senators actually grow a pair and finally put the Constitution and the Republic before loyalty to Trump and the Party. It will need those 20 bite the bullet and I can’t see that happening.

Even if whomever draws up the Articles of Impeachment and gets them passed by a simple majority in the House. There is still the Trial in the Senate and for conviction a supermajority of 67 out of 100 Senators must vote to convict. The previous two Trials failed for this reason: 1st 47/53, 2nd 57/43
