And it's also splitting up families!

Well put. Also struck me how one of the solutions is, GTFO of our city/state. It's like a localized version of mass deportation.

Melgar already told the Chronicle she supports Lurie's version. It's in the article announcing it.

The Lurie-Melgar plan to purge RV dwellers from the city smacks of SF's racist history of "slum clearance" in SoMa/the Fillmore. Feigning compassionate concerns over substandard housing conditions, what politicians actually did was displace vast numbers of people.

Speaker reminds crowd that “all our fights are connected.” One block to the east, this poster echoes the sentiment.

Finally!!! This was already planned last time I visited the Cities in the ancient times Before Covid (2019). I took the 21 from South Mpls to St Paul, thought it'd be a breeze bc it was on the Frequent Network but waited almost 20 min because it was evening...?! Lake Street deserves this upgrade!

And this is why I'm masking indoors, which is not a popular thing to do these days even in leftist spaces where you'd think people would care about community health and wellbeing.

This post would make a good short-form video. Stand there and shout over the din of traffic, "You know what would really bring this area to life? More traffic!"

As much as I would love for mocking him to become moot, the fascists who read his garbage are still in power, so yeah, go for it.

The way to beat Trump's fake populism is with real economic populism: - genuine solutions like rent control and free fast busses - directing the deep well of public anger up at the oligarchs, not the vulnerable. This is what Trump fears most - and it's why he never wanted to run against Bernie

And I posted this at midnight New York time. Classic Scott 🫠 Well, it's not really directed so much at New York, it's a broader point.

RVs are housing. Throwing people out of them with an offer to be in a shelter with curfews and guests not allowed is not compassionate, it's theater to make this look like anything other than what it is: destroying housing and purging people from our city.

Lurie’s mass displacement plan to purge everyone who gets by by living in an RV is official. www.sfchronicle.com/sf/article/m...

Los Angeles, CA - You heard it here first folks. Protesters ran into an apartment building were initially detained, but were let in by residents of the apartment building and then were sheltered by residents in the building. LAPD has given up on the detainments and are gone now.

As the old joke goes, an American diplomat and Soviet diplomat met up, and the American says "I really admire your country's propaganda." The Soviet says, "True, it is good, but it is nothing compared to American propaganda." The American, confused, responds "We don't have propaganda."

who is "Newsom's cops" here, CHP? Or are you suggesting he bears responsibility for LAPD?

If you have five minutes over lunch, or this afternoon (or tomorrow morning), please call Newsom's office and ask him to approve and sign the budget as proposed. There are about 48 hours to wrap this up, and Newsom is understandably distracted. His office needs to hear from riders now!
