Charadow of a Doubt? Is that something?

100%. And these same ROI obsessed goons will shout you down if you even suggest the idea of going easy on students when they're wrong. "BUT THE REAL WORLD!!!" they moan, while every other CEO is a failson who's never been right about anything.

Personally I have found that writers who focus on thematic resonance and "depth" end up feeling pretty shallow. The line between well-intentioned messaging and straight polemic is thin and too many artists step over it imo. I think thematic resonance is a trap. Often one artists set for ourselves.

Unsurprising, unfortunately. I'm a cishet man attracted to trans women (not exclusively, not chasing) and even my most supportive family members sometimes don't seem to get it. They think I'm bi. No, I'm not at all attracted to masculinity. I'm just cool with dong.

And reportedly an Infowarrior. Interested to see if/how Alex will address it. And then if/how Knowledge Fight addresses it.

From the party that pardoned J6ers who threatened harm and death on their peers? I don't fucking think so. Siddown and shaddup. Marjie posted a photo of herself with a rifle within hours of her peers being announced dead. You're a bunch of fucking psychos. Get outta here with this high horseshit.

As a Policy Wonk I always anticipate Alex talking about his fans and Knowledge Fight analyzing whatever lie he spins.

To be fair, SOMEONE has to make counter-offers to the Soros protest actors. It's a gig economy, y'know?

But hobbits love weed and elves are known as "children of the forest" so libertarians would be all for them.

Alex Jones routinely discusses his favored politicians and pundits in Empire terms. He has favorably referred to Trump as Vader and Palpatine. He plays the Imperial March as intro and outro music all the time. It's kinda baffling.

I'm sorry but this is a Heist-ass line. Not even DeVito could pull this off.

I believe the appendix is additional material for context and cross-referencing purposes.

I wonder if Alex Jones, staunch opponent of pedophilia, will have anything to say about this...

"no problem" implies the application of a Van Winkle-ian solution.

My mistake was not asking you in the first response "Who the fuck are you claiming is just fact checking this?"

Oh, so "effective persuasive communication is effective"? Yeah, no shit! You know what helps a persuasive argument? FACTS. You want to argue for a better balance of logos and pathos from the media to fight disinfo, fine. That's not how I read your post.

Which he then follows up by stating that Ben's standards for gender expression are too narrow. The guy's pretty smart in his burn.

All THAT said, I think I'm again mixing up your point with the OP image. You're not suggesting actual lies. You're suggesting truth (L.A. defending itself from cops) about a situation that is a lie (L.A. attacking cops) using similar emotional appeal. Which is not a bad idea.
comment in response to

That said, I'm all for razzing conservashits. I'm not a fan of the "When they go low, we go high." shit. I just don't see countering lies with lies that serve a better purpose as being demonstrably more effective than truth.

I'm not avoiding anything, doggedly or lazily. I just DISAGREE. And what makes you think you KNOW why this was resonant? Prove it. On top of THAT, the insult demos Hasan's ability to point out a logical fallacy. Namely the "Too Narrow" fallacy. (Similar to No True Scotsman but not quite)
comment in response to
post
How is that an example of counterpropaganda? Hasan IS using logic. Shapiro is a gender essentialist and Hasan is pointing out that Ben's gender essentialism is dumb because he doesn't even fit into his own prescriptive box. Is that not a logical refutation?
comment in response to
post
Okay but we're talking about a broad strategy to counter propaganda. Sure, *maybe* it works on a small percentage of the consumers that haven't entirely been washed. Is using the enemy's tactics worth that sliver of the pie? I'm not gonna stop anyone from trying but as an overall strat? Meh.
comment in response to

No. There's the usual social media app crosstalk timing thing happening.

When the truth doesn't work, why is that? And is lying in *our* favor somehow more effective?
comment in response to
post
Okay, not to pull my own bullshido move, but can you provide examples?
comment in response to

Reasonable. But has THAT been proven any more effective than logical counterargument?
comment in response to

I think I misunderstood your response as directly addressing the OP image, which is AI. But I still don't think the response to someone's brainwashing is to reverse the messaging. Part of the effectiveness of these messages is that the audience *wants* to believe. It's confirmation bias.
comment in response to
post
That's not the same thing. And yeah, it WAS super effective. Name calling is not lying. And even the Vance couch stuff was outright acknowledged as a lie. Nobody tried to hide that. I, myself, have posted about Vance killing the Pope. I'm not trying to really sell that though.
