Time to StopRosebank🛑
This project won’t lower bills, won’t boost energy security, and WILL destroy our climate. The only ones benefiting? Equinor.
Let’s stop it for good > act.gp/4gQtKtH

It's Unlawful ⚖️🔍
In January 2025, a Scottish court ruled that the approval of Rosebank was unlawful because it didn't consider emissions from burning the oil. The government now has to reassess the project.

It's a Marine Menace 🐋⚠️
To get the oil, they plan to lay a pipeline through a protected North Sea area. This could harm delicate coral gardens, rare deep-sea sponges, and marine life like whales and dolphins.

You’re Paying for It 💸🤦♂️
The UK public would foot the bill for billions in tax breaks to develop Rosebank.
Rosebank is owned by Equinor, a Norwegian state-owned oil giant. We’d literally be making Norway richer while getting nothing in return.

t Won’t Boost UK Energy Security 🚫
Since most of the oil won’t even stay in the UK, it won’t make us more energy independent.
But it will keep us hooked on expensive, volatile fossil fuels instead of investing in cheap homegrown renewables. Genius.

It Won’t Lower Your Bills 📈🔥
Nearly 80% of UK-produced oil is exported because it's the wrong type for our refineries.
This won’t make your bills any lower - it just makes oil execs richer.

It's a Climate Killer 🌍💀
Rosebank's reserves would release over 200 million tonnes of CO₂ when burned. More than the combined annual emissions of 28 low-income countries - that’s 700 million people.

Recycling alone won’t save us. We need to stop making so much plastic in the first place.
Time for real action. Time for a Global Plastics Treaty. 🌍

The real fix? A legally binding Global Plastics Treaty that forces corporations & governments to reduce plastic production instead of just shifting the mess around.
Less plastic = less pollution. Simple.

Kids have even been found working in plastic waste dumps in Turkey, breathing in toxic fumes just so big brands can slap a "recyclable" label on their packaging.
That’s not a solution. It’s a scam.
comment in response to

Meanwhile, corporations keep churning out more plastic, knowing full well we can’t deal with the waste.
comment in response to

You know that plastic you put in the recycling bin? You’re trying to do your bit, but a lot of it doesn't actually get recycled. Instead, it's shipped overseas to places like Turkey, where it's dumped, burned, or left to rot.
This poisons local communities, pollutes rivers, and chokes wildlife. 💀

But what if we told you this extreme weather was caused by climate change and was totally preventable?
The UK government must act on climate criminals NOW to prevent worse from happening.

This jumble of misinformation and gaslighting is a cover to allow Big Oil bosses to rake in even more billions in profits.
The government should bring down bills as part of its much-needed clean power rollout.
🔋Green energy prices have dropped globally, how about we start there?🔋

Unilever spends millions on fluffy ads to look eco-friendly.
If they really cared they would seriously invest in reuse and refill, and phase out wasteful single use plastics.
Their misery drenched profits show they've clearly got the money, but have they got the will - the jury's out.

All the while Big Oil giants like Shell are making billions in profit by doubling down on fossil fuels which is driving the climate crisis we see all around us.
We’re demanding that Big Oil is made to PAY for its climate damage.

Ordinary people in the Philippines and elsewhere across the world are the ones having to pay for damage being caused by ever worsening floods, fires and storms.

Water was flooded into glass cases to mimic the damage caused by supercharged typhoons, before we smashed the glass to the water spilled out. We swept the glass to shells front door and left the belonging sand brooms so Shell could clean up THEIR mess.

This is a significant step but it's NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
We MUST have cheap, CLEAN power sources READY to go. ☀️
The UK government needs to STOP gambling on our futures with DIRTY schemes made with BIG POLLUTERS. 🛑

This money could instead fund genuinely CLEAN home-grown renewable energy sources like wind and solar...
...which are CHEAPER than biomass will EVER be.
It's time this government stopped making DIRTY COMPROMISES and took BOLD action for the sake of our futures.

These fields:
- will NOT lower bills
- will NOT make us energy secure
- WILL fuel costly & deadly floods & storms
What we REALLY need is for the government to support oil workers to transition into the secure green jobs of the future! 👷🧑🏭
Let's keep up the PRESSURE! 🪧

The government now has to make a fresh decision on these North Sea fields, taking into account their FULL climate impact.
This should be an EASY one. 🤔
New oil and gas fields would be a DISASTER for the climate and they’re a TERRIBLE deal for the UK.

The UK government must act in the interests of the people it represents and make fossil fuel companies - not taxpayers - pay for the damage caused by flooding and other climate disasters.

Oil companies like Shell are causing the climate crisis, and they have the billions necessary to fund the clean-up of homes and communities after the devastating floods and wildfires THEY are driving.
HOWEVER they don’t pay a penny for the loss and damage they cause.
