This is good news but many communities next to your massive new £2.2bn Silvertown HGV road tunnel scheme have been excluded! And you still refuse to include the most dangerous pollutant PM2.5 in your monitoring which is seriously out of date & hasn’t kept up with the science! #AirPollution.

There’s nothing transformative about the Silvertown Tunnel. Flawed monitoring will undermine air pollution mitigation measures & result in more Londoners being exposed to harmful pollution. #SilvertownTunnel #Breathe @theguardian.com

And the plan to open the Silvertown Tunnel to motor traffic - which will increase outdoor pollution impact in some of London's most deprived communities - not just an issue of environmental justice, but also an issue of social and racial justice.. #SilvertownTunnel

Caroline Russell AM secured TfL concession on cross-river DLR after community- led group ‘Escalate Now!’ contacted her. Result! 🙌 All we need is the start date and timetable. City Hall Green Assembly Members work hard for us. @carolinerussell.bsky.social www.escalate-now.com

Absolutely incredible chairing by @charlenewhite.bsky.social at People's Question time making sure people get answers to their questions I answered questions about opportunities for young people & people living through estate regeneration needing to be listened to & not left in limbo

This week I raised an Urgent Question on Gaza, pushed for social care talks, debated North Sea transition, aid cuts, and dark money in politics, plus met some inspiring young women for International Women's Day. In these challenging times, there are still reasons for hope.

Guardian today: #Starmer Government's misplaced £billions on Carbon Capture I point out major flaws in carbon capture, utilisation and storage, David Stokes says moving away from it would be no bad thing, while Kate Macintosh thinks it is a poor investment www.theguardian.com/environment/...

It’s so disappointing that TfL didn’t follow through on commitments. Accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists is appalling.

“Estate regeneration is displacing Londoners, ripping communities apart with no accountability for the developers and landlords” #ZoeGarbett to London Assembly in January www.london.gov.uk/who-we-are/w... Sent from my iPhone

Tomorrow night in Haringey - @londonassembly.bsky.social members and the Mayor @london.gov.uk available to answer your questions. Looking forward to hearing what people raise.

Just spoken at the rally outside the American embassy bringing solidarity for Ukraine from @greenparty.org.uk   “The shameful, vindictive treatment of President Zelensky in Washington last week by President Trump and Vice President Vance was a new low … …which only played into Putin’s hands.”

Thank you to HerCentre in Woolwich for such a wonderful event and for including local Green Party creatives! “The World Needs Women's Ideas, Perspectives, and Creativity More Than Ever!”:HerCentre. So many talented women,a writer,a poet,an artist, a photographer and some incredible singers!

Fantastic news!! “People want alternatives. Having real choices and space for real criticism is part of any healthy democracy."

As @oxfamgb.bsky.social makes clear, Israel’s decision to block aid to over 2 million Palestinians Gaza is “a reckless act of collective punishment, and is explicitly prohibited under international humanitarian law”. Full Oxfam statement here: oxfam.org.uk/mc/yf84ug/

Moral values are utterly consistent. I support Palestinians, Uyghurs, and Ukrainians. I condemn Netanyahu, Jinping, and Putin. Trump — and Starmer as his poodle — have no real interest in peace or resistance to their war machines.

Great turn-out today with many enthusiastic residents! Much was achieved on our Street Cleaning event & thank you to all!We hope that the council won’t be spraying glyphosate on those lush green poppy leaves at the base of an ancient wall. This street is part of a scheme to opt out of glyphosate use.

It's like they're embarrassed of it & trying to hide it with camouflage. (We wouldn't blame them for being embarrassed)

Using the same fantasy toy town image as on the leaflet to local residents. Here is the version @SilvertownTn added sarcastic comments to:

Today I did a reccy on Greenwich Peninsula searching for the cycle lanes leading to the Silvertown Tunnel cycle bus stop. It was in vain. The large billboard is on East Greenwich ‘rose garden’. This is TfL’s ‘gift’ to the people of Greenwich.

Thanks to Caroline for keeping this vital issue on high on the agenda! And we agree, the routing is very clunky & may well see cyclists having to sit on the bus in traffic to get to the designated stop on the north side! road.cc/content/news...

We’ll keep up the pressure on the Council, meeting with those responsible for Housing and Regeneration to demand answers. “They must manage these projects better and improve maintenance of existing properties”-Greenwich Green, Stacy Smith.

We are grateful to Caroline Russell AM for her support on the awful #Greenway diversion which is now nearing its sixth month. It’s not acceptable that a private water company can sever Newham’s only north/south cycling connection. Both Thames Water and Newham Council need to step up and do more.

Not my kind of photography really but this needs highlighting. This is what a resident living here told me today: “People think we are the forgotten estate & more effort goes into other estates around the borough especially those near the Cutty Sark”.

As @greenparty.org.uk has been calling for since #Brexit. Could go some way to restoring rights and freedoms of young Britons. Let's keep the pressure up! Make politics what you do, not have done to you www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/...

Our latest leaflet. Greenwich Green, Stacy Smith talks about housing ‘The Council must manage these projects better and improve maintenance of existing properties’. On a visit to blocks of flats only yesterday we saw pools of water in communal stairwells. People shouldn’t have to live like this.

Silvertown Tunnel. ‘Greenwashing project won’t help cyclists’. road.cc/content/news...

It’s crucial to tackle road run off pollution & look after our rivers because they are often a source of drinking water, areas for recreation and valuable wildlife habitat. ‘Imagine if what was on Enfield's roads came out of your tap’ www.enfieldindependent.co.uk/news/2492244...

‘..life expectancy is measurably longer’. On local economy: ‘retail vacancy rates are down, footfall is up and the areas are very popular with visitors’. lcc.org.uk/news/10-year...

“This marks a turning point for our environment and our pollinators, who have been side-lined in this decision-making process for too long”. #glyphosate @greensofgreenwich www.theguardian.com/environment/...

I signed up for this! I’m not a scientist & certainly not a techie but with pollution-related illnesses on the rise, it’s important we understand and communicate the negative impacts of air pollution to our communities. www.imperial.ac.uk/events/18787...

Green Party member @karinlt.bsky.social quoted : “It looks to me like this cycle bus was an after-thought, a bit of PR to silence critics. Sadiq Khan says he wants us to use public transport & participate in active travel but this won't be easy”. @london.gov.uk
