That's when it started getting funny again.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) Dir. Peter Jackson

Star Trek really is just the greatest thing ever

Got some great bargains down the shop today. 🛒

Every guy with a tragic backstory (in a movie):

A really lovely bit of writing, this

We now cross over to BBC Radio Derby.

Private Eye exposing again the utter idiocy of our politics. This sums up *exactly* how Farage and Reform get rocket-boosted by a media, drunk on sensationalist nonsense. Unserious and irresponsible but it’ll be up to us to prove them wrong.

If it’s 6 June, it must be 193 years to the day since Jeremy Bentham died, stipulating in his will that his body should be preserved at University College London so he could be wheeled in to attend every council meeting. Well... except most of the stories about his remains aren’t true 🧵

In the midnight hour she cried Moore, More, Moore With a rebel yell she cried Moore, More, Moore

Having reached the point of (basically?) GenX middle-age, what I can warn younger people in my "profession" about with no small amount of caution is that I'm embarrassed about A LOT more things I vehemently *disliked* for dumb reasons than things I liked "not holding up."

I don't think I have ever played a game that made me laugh so much. Buy it for God's sake.

There was not one shit book in this collection, every single one a fucking banger. Primary school slapped whenever you opened one of these and you know I'm right.

The big football story of the evening is of course, Shrimpers are going to Wembley! #southend

QUE SERA SERA

⚽️ Today's the day!⚽️ Wishing our Shrimpers of Southend United the very best of luck ahead of tonight's match against Forest Green - although up in Westminster tonight, I'm going to be glued to my phone checking the score! COME ON YOU SHRIMPERS! 🦐

Astonishing evidence at the Covid Inquiry. The Government repeatedly ignored offers from the Crick Institute to provide mass testing on a national scale. Instead, the Government paid Deloitte consultants to project manage, not yet established, privately run labs. 1/2

Came on here looking for happy Palace fans, but it's just yanks moaning about their terrible president

Because I don’t even glance at the news lest it turn my feeble heart weak, I missed that Tesco has utterly fucked the UK’s inflation figures. Because 20% of the stuff in there has a “clubcard price” which is around what the MSRP normally is, and a non-clubcard price (5-20% more)

Since I saw this post I have been haunted by a question: what is Labour's 2029 manifesto going to *say*?

It’s the 68th anniversary of Life magazine running a feature about a banker getting wasted on magic mushrooms. Terence McKenna read it, aged 10, grew up to take loads of shrooms himself and came up with ‘stoned ape theory’: the idea that human consciousness comes from psilocybin

Yvette Cooper repeatedly refused to give a straight answer just now on Today to straight Q “Will councils get more money to pay care workers more?” She repeatedly committed to higher carer pay but wouldn’t commit to money so councils can fund it. Think that speaks volumes about the mess we are in.
