Based on @ashleypureheart.bsky.social finding Elio very disappointing, might see Life of Chuck tomorrow instead since Elio can definitely wait. Though I might hold out for Elio since I have seen every Pixar film in theaters since Brave, including Soul, Luca and Turning Red.

Really bummed out for Pixar....they just went from their highest grossing film ever with Inside Out 2, to Elio potentially being their lowest grossing film (not counting Onward's short-lived run, nor the D+ releases). Current reccord holder is Lightyear, and Elio might go lower than that.

How polarizing Materialists has been is very interesting to me... My moots who loved it have been rant and rave about it, but I've seen a lot of 5/10's and unders for it. It got a B- from the audience due to being different from trailers, but I've heard the latter reactions on its own merits.

@ashleypureheart.bsky.social informed me about Regal having a Krypto plush, since I haven't found him in stores I will go to Regal to see a movie not playing in my town. Might see Life of Chuck, which I heard was very great. If not, I'm hoping they get Bride Hard due to the Pitch Perfect reunion.

The only way I could understand is if you're a critic dedicated to seeing anything and everything, like AniMat with animation. Though I imagine those kinds of critics get to see it for free with a subscription like AMC A List or Regal Unlimited.

Paramount should bring this back for Smurfs, since I haven't seen a major PG animated film in much trouble since Ruby Gillman, the last time this was done. Paramount did Mystery screenings for Gladiator 2, so I can see a similar case for Smurfs.

Was initially thinking they'd maybe play a Wylde Pak short, since back in Summer 2022 they played a Big Nate short before Paws of Fury which came out the same year and figured Wylde Pak would be their new cartoon this year they'd want to push.
