My household spent last night watching Indiana Jones walloping a whole lot of nazis. For no particular reason.

If you're looking for something to cheer you up, Grand Theft Hamlet on Mubi is a delight. Out-of-work actors stage a production of Hamlet within GTA during the UK lockdowns. Hilarious and lovely. youtu.be/g1mufiI88kc?...

New day of the week just dropped. Thanks scammers.

Could've just given the billions they spent on this to whoever reanimated Tim's dead son in @oncinema.bsky.social and it would've been 500% more realistic.

Greta Thunberg doesn’t have my bank routing information

Using AI to produce writing or art is like asking someone at the gym to lift weights for you. The effort is the point.

Heads up LA folks, if you missed the excellent Beyond Fest Ed Wood screening and Q&A, USC SCA screenings are also fantastic and completely free. This will be fun.

Not sure what could be happening in the world to prompt this feeling, but I really need to watch things that are very unapologetically hilarious and silly of late. Like this. That said, he does apologise a couple of times. youtu.be/MoHTvTrfB2g?...

After the awfulness of the past few weeks, it was lovely to see this joyously nuts celebration of friendship, fun and culottes - Barb and Star - on a big screen, with the creative forces who made this batshit work of art.

Wow. it must feel terrible when someone takes something you made and uses it without permission or payment

How can you sanction a country you can't even spell.

This is filth and no one should be on Twitter any longer.

I'm not sure if people realize how quickly the Trumpzis can do enormous damage to US science, from basic research to translation. Really fast. REALLY fast. Labs with decades of irreplaceable domain and technique knowledge can break apart with a surprisingly short funding gap. When they're gone...1/

This is some North Korea shit

Yeah but why can't more TV be like the 1979 Kate Bush BBC Christmas Special? www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6BP...

Where do you even start with this guy? Legend.

For Aussies this is almost as impressive as the local radio’s Black Thunder doing the rounds of the burbs handing out “ice cold Cokes.”

This is, or should be, a big deal -- Ann Telnaes, an absolute legend, quitting WaPo due to censorship of a cartoon criticizing billionaires anntelnaes.substack.com/p/why-im-qui...

A pretty chill NYE from a roof in North Melbourne with city lights and a few bats.

"A request made through ChatGPT, an AI-based virtual assistant, consumes 10 times the electricity of a Google Search" This isn't a game. This is accelerated destruction via huge usage of power, water, resources etc. Stop using it - especially for messing about!! www.unep.org/news-and-sto...

Yay! @mitchmctaggart.bsky.social's The Last Year of Television was amazing. Although the sorry state of Aussie TV and dwindling amount of original comedy and drama made me score a negative 10 on the Denyer-excite-o-meter: youtu.be/Rg8Xq6eiysM?...

Can't wait to watch my favourite yearly round-up of Australian TV high- and lowlights from bigtime Bingles-head @mitchmctaggart.bsky.social.

Remembering when my little brother and teenage me once built a ridiculous gif-heavy Boonie fan website called "Temple of Boon," where, for some reason, I crudely photoshopped his head onto all of the Spice Girls. It became weirdly popular and Boonie became aware of it. I don't think he was a fan.
