The irony of the richest man in the world almost single-handedly destroying an agency designed to help the world’s poor, so that the U.S. federal budget has more room for another giant tax cut for the richest man in the world and his pals, should not be lost on anyone. [Cartoon by Mike Luckovich]

"The fact that RFK Jr. is right about a few things, such as the need to address childhood obesity—remember when the right practically called Michelle Obama a Nazi for her advocacy on this issue?—doesn’t change how overall batshit he is." @cathyyoung63.bsky.social: www.thebulwark.com/p/trump-pick...

Roses are red Public Health is toast

Pretty damn good framing for Dems

This one worries me the most. He is an absolute moron and his policy decisions have to potential to cost millions of lives.

My new Substack article covering Elons rise to power, the book “The Network State: how to build a new country”, the current tech coup, and how social media, bots, and algorithms are used for election interference is out now on Substack. Free to read always, knowledge is power.

The closure of CFPB highlights the grand lie at the heart of DOGE. CFPB is cheap to run & delivers billions to victims of corporate scams. It’s the definition of value for money. But X & Meta hate it because it targets big tech fraud. DOGE is not about waste. It’s about enriching the oligarchy.

The CFPB has: -Returned $20B to victims of financial fraud -Cracked down on junk fees -Fought against politically-motivated debanking -Protected veterans from predatory lenders -Protected consumers' data from corporate abuse Oligarchs want to reverse all of this.

Trump is shutting down the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, an agency that has returned nearly $20 billion to consumers since it was created in 2011. The CFPB helps businesses who play by the rules not be disadvantaged by businesses who cheat. Shutting it down will only hurt American consumers.
