Oh, interesting. Our auto insurance works differently. IIRC, our auto insurance companies invest the premiums and if the investment returns don't cover the pay outs plus a generous profit, then they raise premiums or cut benefits. I think annual profit for the big ones is ~$3B.

There's technically an income limit for SSDI because you can't be found disabled if you are making too much money through substantial gainful activity (SGA). For 2025, that amount for noon-blind people is $1620/month.
