THIS is why we're telling you to stop using ChatGPT THIS is why we got pissed at the Coke ad THIS is what happens when you normalize the use of artificially generated content. Stuff like this is despicable and an absolute violation of a person's likeness and rights. For the love of God, stop this.

And Palestinians are getting less than this

You also didn't campaign on: - cancelling the ferries - throwing out the anti-smoking legislation - shutting down the health system - ditching pay equity - NULLIFYING TE TIRITI - requiring all legislation EVER to be approved by David Seymour - etc etc And yet,

What a time to add air filtration to all schools. The technology exist and is far cheaper than treating or educating kids with special needs. You can be sure that the private schools where wealthy people send their kids already has it! (So do the offices of politicians!)

My #MWSecretSantaAoNZ has been delivered! Opening day is the same day my tēina (little sis) arrives from Ahitereiria for a holiday with me! Hūrē!

If you do a close read not only of the Bible but the archeology, it starts to look like the Israelites, & all but a couple of Judean kings, worshipped a goddess for pretty much the whole First Temple era. The implications of this are... far ranging-- & her name might not be what we've believed.

No cause evictions are cruel and only serve the worst of landlords, but I imagine the Govt knew this and, as most of them are landlords, they’re primarily serving themselves. #nzpol

17 years old when she filmed George Floyd's murder, Darnella Frazier did it because she knew no one in power would believe it otherwise. She won a Pulitzer for her citizen journalism. She addressed Floyd's memory saying, "May you rest in the most beautiful roses." I hope she's doing well. ❤️💔

Slightly odd question for my #nz crafty peeps. Would any of you have use for stainless steel cookie cutters? They're quite large & there's a full alphabet. I've asked around my local community (schools, libraries) but no takers. I'd really like them to go to a good home.

Is this real life?

Don't vote for the guy or his mates who are backed by cookers and anti-trans douchebags.

Stanford: “All Kiwi kids deserve to thrive at school, that starts with warm, safe and dry classrooms.” ME: OMG are NZ schools finally getting universal mechanical ventilation to protect from Covid and other airborne illnesses?? Stanford: 🦗

Not having a crack at them which is why I've removed identifiables, I've been making my dad wear every item of clothing he owns in the hopes my washing machine would arrive this week but alas

I mean, "actively considering" isn't, er, action, but it's something...(although I have a doubt re $6mil being enough). newsroom.co.nz/2025/05/27/g...

Welcome to SexStack: A Cliterary Journal for the Curious! Two writer pals and I have created this nice dimly lit space where we can write about sex research in ways that are weirder, raunchier, and more personal than our day jobs allow. Come with us? 🧪📚 sexscience.substack.com/p/welcome-to...

Aided by Govt Ministers panicking because of public outrage, Police Commissioner cottons on to the terrible optics and reverses policy directive to ignore crime. It’s a shame they didn’t reverse ignoring DV call-outs but I imagine the Govt didn’t get on their case about DV. #misogny

Nelson is growing in human count but also in age. We have a heap of retirement homes that will literally turf people to the hospital to die so they don't have to deal with them but sure... let's have less beds. That is great

We should have a memorial day for COVID. It is horrific that we as a society have done virtually nothing to remember the millions who have died. Rushing to forget what happened also makes it much more likely that we will continue to repeat our deadly mistakes.

Agreed. As anyone who has worked in the community knows, managing volunteers takes time and energy. Who will fund these community groups to provide oversight? Who will pay for the police checks required? What about health and safety requirements?

In which Simeon Brown's ideology got in the way of some basic facts and evidence In which it would have been easier to just leave the old rule in place from 2023. Reading a 30 - Kura/School sign is much easier to understand 😮 www.1news.co.nz/2025/05/27/s...

so much for AI inevitably. i already deleted the app.

Tautoko. Agreed entirely. The 'tax-payer' funded trope is part of the standard textbook 'divide-and-rule' tactic of the status-quo power-brokers. Note, almost *all* (including benefit recipients, and, those who receive very little income) who live in Aotearoa pay taxes - it's called GST.

I tend to agree with others quoted here. Rock stacking is relatively ecologically benign, but I think it looks terrible and would much prefer if people didn't do it. Fairly pointless for the Council to "ban" it as there will be no follow-up compliance.

Why what Nicola Willis wears matters

I do think it’s a hilarious countermove that when Trump attacked Harvard they reminded everyone OH HEY DID YOU KNOW WE OFFER FREE CLASSES TO EVERYONE ON HOW TO RECOGNIZE FASCIST GOVERNMENT TAKEOVERS 10/10, no notes

Finally got a rejection today from an employer that's been stringing me along for two and a half months, and I'm sort of relieved? The interview phase hadn't even *started* and I'd already done test work for them (easy, I was *extremely* qualified).

Aside from the fact that anyone can get seriously ill from COVID, a key point they are deliberately hiding when removing access is that COVID vaccines reduce transmission. People choose to get vaccinated to protect other people. It is wrong and harmful to take that choice away.

Trust me, Long Covid is devastating, life changing—you don’t want it for yourself or anyone you care about (nor should you want it for anyone you don’t care about)
