The correct response would be for all banks call in all loans made to Trump and Musk.

Does Kemi, she of the free speech, know?

Another intellectually stupid remark. These people create culture, ARE the culture, not the other way around.

Nations outside the US must stand up to Trump. They didn't elect him and have no obligation in law to him. He should learn to understand and respect sovereignty. And his fellow pigs might fly.

The irony is IMO true. But the practical issues are also true. It will be expensive, sharing information will be toying with state secrets, capabilities vary and equipment isn't compatible. How is the command structure decided? Isn't this idea just replacing NATO with another NATO?

This is also deceptively "patriotic" so easy to sell. We already see the UK mumbling about dismissing post war international law for which millions of people gave their lives and secured order, comfort and liberty. Let's hope he was only spitting out a watermelon seed.

Glad my familiar friend is coming back but Lewis did so well. They were quite big boots to fill. Please NEVER replace sense and reason with a has-been Tory again.

Not really spiteful. Just pointless and made to show the govt is doing something.

The only thing that will collapse Musk and Trump is for banks to call in their loans.

If brexit hadn't happened I would have sent you a genuine wheel of brie bought in a local French fromagerie. Tant pis.

Some countries are growing, some not. Growth is relative. When you have already secured a good GDP, you don't grow as quickly relative to a poor country which discovers previously undiscovered mineral wealth.. like Albania, where rich countries all want to invest.

The UK's native economy is declining. It MUST accept foreign immigration and encourage foreign investment to fill the hollow sound of internally generated GDP. Only when the country accepts this, will it start to grow. Sad but true.

I believe Canada and Mexico both belong to the Cptpp.

So did Boris. We can only hope for a Gina Miller to arise.

Thank you James. A great tour of some of the best highlights ( tho by no means all) which prodded my sense of humour while also my absolute angst about the gullibility that still bedevils much of the UK and which is becoming increasingly dangerous.

Thinking too about Syria, Qatar, Saudi and Iran. Quite effective I think.

On the premise that they shot themselves in only one foot, they are now standing on a crutch and aiming at the other one. Is the Westminster Bubble the last gasp of a sinking ship?

The problem with Musk is that he does not join the dots, unusual in such a high IQ, of his approach to minorities and plutocracy and his utter lack of ideas as to how to correct the problems we all existentially face. His answer? Don't Look Up.

I stopped eating anything pig related food years ago. Pigs are one of the only sentient beings alive SOLELY for human processing. And so very intelligent. Not a PETA supporter but I agree with this.

Raw sore British irony in the 4% result.

It is a long street to SW France but I would be with you by motor, cheering loudly.

This man's name is Winston Smith. My name is Julia.

Now in my mid 70's and having done my bit for liberal government and the fellowship of man, I now feel my life has been a sandwich between two crusts of fascism. Circles and orbits seem the inevitable shape of existence.

OMG one of those things I thought I would never forget. Up there with Wild at Heart...Laura Dern and a young Nicholas Cage. Great music too.

I don't think AI will REPLACE art anymore than factory generated fake copies. In fact AI can be used to spot fakes or the source of works.
comment in response to post
Almost all art of any kind is a rearrangement and interprétation of other things seen or heard. The "art" is in the réinterprétation, not the source of the material.

A battle of the earls for the ear of the king. What would Elizabeth 1 have done?

Careful...he can buy the UK at a knock-down price as a failing asset just to please Trump.

Most good authors or musicians or artists who ever produced or said something controversial were in some degree of danger from the status quo...another name for the government.

I don't think AI was meant to be the whole of someone's personal and emotional life. That would be impossible.

I loaded up ChatGPT today and had a good exchange about how it knows truth from lies or propaganda. The propagandists will have to seriously change their approach. Plus one for AI.

It is only the first quarter of the century. The rest is history . I am seriously tired of it all. Just leave me alone.

I retirer just before the cut-off date so paid attention. The warning was often given clearly. Why compensate someone for not paying attention?? It is time the population starts to take responsibility for itself.

It is the capitalist aspiration of insurance companies and their shareholders. Too embedded now. TBH there is very basic coverage but it is sparse.

Is that why the Tory "state" did eff-all?
